Living in a big city we strive to be close to nature - this house met our expectations fully. The location is great, the house is on a large parcel of land in a valley, between a narrow road and a gentle slope with a large meadow on it, and a forest all around. There is a pond on the property, so in spring and summer you will hear frogs as well as birds in the surrounding trees. It is in the middle of a forest (not completely secluded - there are other houses in some distance), so you can expect to see larger animals too - we saw a lot of cute deer coming to drink from the pond and even a black bear. The house is comfortable, with all necessary amenities, two bedrooms and a bathroom located in the back of the house, a huge living room and a kitchen in the front. There is also an enclosed porch with large windows -our cat liked to watch birds from there. We loved sitting in front of the house by the fire, watching stars and fireflies above the meadow or by the wood stove inside.

We enjoyed our stay at this unique, memorable, and beautiful property. Margaret was great with communication and is a wonderful and responsive host. Overall, we had a lovely time. Pros: Modern and spacious design, light-filled, excellent floor heating, uncluttered and open, amazing views especially through the "garage door" window facing the lot, beautiful grounds, privacy, comfortable beds and furnishings, strong wifi, shower is one of the best we've encountered in an airbnb. Cons: There was a cleanliness issue that seemed not to have been the fault of the host but was a little challenging to resolve. In the end, Margaret was great about making things right. The smaller bedroom, while secluded, does not have a door. No garbage and recycling disposal. Not much of an issue but windows lack coverings.

We had a SUCH a wonderful time at this place! A gorgeous, quiet, beautiful location, and such a cozy home. Nestled in the mountains, close to some extraordinary hikes + beautiful trails around the property itself, and also an easy drive into Margaretville to grocery store/pharmacy/wine store/ etc. Margaret was a wonderful, super communicative and helpful host. There was a big snowfall while were there and it was so fun to go snow-shoeing around the trails on the property! The location cannot be beat! We cannot wait to return!

The location was very beautiful and felt private/secluded. I really liked the house. The furniture was simple but had everything you would need for comfort, cooking, etc. It had a nice rustic feel with just enough modern updates to make it extra comfortable. Having to take trash off the property ourselves was a little annoying but not a huge deal (we wound up discarding it at a local gas station no problem).
