Beautiful location Plenty of room for guests and entertainment with games Easy directions Would have been nice to warm up the house a few hours before It took awhile to warm up Maybe tell people to bring newspapers to start a fire in the fireplace We were told to bring extra TP because there was only one roll that seemed a bit stingy but just a small complaint
My family and I stayed here while visiting our parents who live nearby. Place was easy to find and Cortney's directions were a great supplement to gps. Roads weren't bad, but were snow packed and icy and my brother's mini-van could not get up the main road as it was quite icy and not county maintained so, I had to shuttle him and his family. AWD/4x4 strongly recommended. Place was as expected, lots of board games and comfortable accommodations. There were no house instructions/guide, so I had to ask Cortney more questions than I normally would about basic things (confirm type of heat source, whether firewood was provided, checkout instructions), which, due to connectivity issues were not timely answered or answered at all. Instructions would have been very helpful. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and are glad this home was available, comfortable, and so close to family.
The location and surroundings were beautiful and serene. The photos were a bit deceiving of the actual reality of the property. The cabin is a lot older than the pictures portrayed. Also, we had some short notice checkout rules to complete laundry and put away. Which was out of no where while on vacation and made for an early morning of duties to wash towels, put away and start loads of bedding , including washing and putting away all dishes, taking our trash, etc.. overall the stay was okay. Would have liked to have known the checkout procedures in advance.
Situated on the edges of the Bitterroot National Forest, this rural neighborhood consists of lots of 3 acres or more each. This cabin sits on just over 4 acres and is secluded from views of other homes. You will feel completely alone on this forested property. Property offers 2 streams that flow all year. Wildlife is often seen strolling through trees. Elk, deer, eagles, turkeys, and the occasional bear or moose.
The West Fork of the Bitterroot River, the fly fishing capitol of the world, is less than a mile away.
The town of Darby is 16 miles away where you can enjoy shopping, restaurants, find fishing guides, and see all the charm of our small western town.
Paramounts hit series Yellowstone is filmed 15 miles away from this property.
You will need a car or truck to get around Montana. If your reservation is between December 1 and April 30 you WILL NEED 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive. The cabin is located in the Bitterroot National Forest and forest service roads are tricky to navigate in winter months. During summer months all vehicles can access the property.

My husband and I fell in love with The Bitterroot Valley 7 years ago. At the time, we lived near Seattle. We worked full time and ran a successful business, but we rarely saw each other or our children. Moving to Montana allowed us to reconnect with ourselves and with our family life. This is a rich place to live: there are gorgeous mountains, tons of trees, and abundant wildlife. We want to share this beauty and peace with other people looking for a chance to relax and reconnect. We have discovered a love of hosting during our years as Airbnb hosts. We specialize in properties in the south section of the Bitterroot Valley. If you are considering renting out your home, let's chat. Property Management is our specialty.
