The drive to the apartment is not for the faint hearted and personally felt the suzuki Jeep was worthwhile for the many potholes both on the island and on the road to the villa. Also, the road is steep and mostly rutted dirt/gravel road. We had torrential rain near the end of the stay, and the potholes became consiberaly worse after as mud was washed away. Although we did not necessarily need the 4x4, we were definitely thankful to have it available! We could see how easily it woudl be to damage the underside of a vehicle if we had not got the ground clearance. The neighbouring apartment was empty during our stay which made our holiday particularly peaceful as we had the pool to ourselves and could walk about with very little clothing if we wanted to. We had not quite accepted how expensive the imported food is in the shops, so if you like your English Jams/cereals/nuts, nut butters (or anything dry and packable) - take it with you or eat out!

Melanie, we were entranced with the Pineapple Cottage at first site. It was everything we were hoping for. Perched in a lush, tropical valley with mellow breezes and outstanding views, we felt enormously privileged to have encountered such a beautiful corner of Antigua. Despite the 6 beaches - I'm now an unabashed Ffryes man - within 10 mins (thx for your advice to rent a 4x4 to get around) we found it was an easy decision occasionally to forego the sand and just spend time luxuriating on the deck next to the pool. We had everything at hand to keep us happy and comfortable during the full two weeks we spent there. I can't say enough about the welcome we received from your local hosts Marisa and Brendon. They are both absolutely delightful and we always felt we were in very good hands when we needed a bit of direction or support. They were a quick txt msg away and remained communicative/ultra-responsive at all times. Many thanks to everyone for the flawless Caribbean experience.

Sheer View Apartments are absolutely amazing! The views from the terraced pool and the natural plants on the gardened grounds are absolutely stunning! The host Melanie and her husband Simon made us feel so welcome and safe. They provided all the amenities that we needed for the week. The location of this place was perfect! The beaches close by were some of our favorite beaches on the island and was a bonus to be so close to them. They were so gracious to share with us some of their story on what led them to Antigua, and we can really see now why they fell in love with the place because it is unbelievably beautiful! We really enjoyed being able to spend mornings waking up to sunrise and coffee by the pool with beautiful sunsets at night as we plan for our next adventures the following day. My girlfriend (now fiancé!) and I decided if we are ever lucky enough to come back to Antigua we would definitely book with Melanie & Simon again. Have fun and explore the island!- Jeff and Court

Each day we fell in love with the view even more. Such a wonderful place for my husband and I to explore Antigua for the first time. Melanie was a great host and the location worked well for us having a rental car. Highly recommend Sheer View Hill.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans le logement à Melanie. Je dois préciser que l’accueil c’est fait très rapide nous avions des questions resto et autre et elle semblait un peu pressée à quitter donc nous nous sommes débrouillés par nous même comme elle l’a mentionné. Nous sommes habitués dans des air b&b et c’est la première fois qu’on apporte ce genre de commentaire. ** petits bémols à améliorer et qui devrait être la base fournie par l’hôte: -Laisser des sacs à poubelle d’extra, on en avait juste 1 pour la semaine et la poubelle était très petite. -Fournir un rouleau d’essuie-tout, il n’y en avait aucun. -Laisser des oreillers d’extra car ce n’est pas tout le monde qui sont confortable à dormir avec 1 seule oreiller, on a presque pas dormi de la semaine car c’était très inconfortable vu la très mince épaisseur. -Laisser 1 ou 2 rouleaux de papiers hygiénique d’extra, on en avait 1 seule. -Fournir des bouteilles scellées et non pas une machine à l’eau que la cruche était sale.
