Paddock House is a gorgeous thatched, 18th Century Ham stone converted barn, surrounded by beautiful gardens. The main room, complete with large stone fireplace and baby-grand piano, is the heart of the home. The adjoining kitchen - diner is drenched in light, with French doors leading directly on to a South-facing patio. With beaches, wetlands, forests, market towns and historic properties all in easy reach, this is a family space and a home away from home for your summer. As this is our home, you will find our personal belongings throughout, but we will ensure there is plenty of spare storage for your belongings. We welcome families and hope you will find it an easy place to relax with everything you need for little people. We’re sorry, but we can’t accept party groups. The house consists of: - Large main living room (with gas fire and baby grand piano), - Dining room, connected to - Kitchen (our Aga is turned off in the summer, but there is an electric oven, gas hob, microwave & American-style fridge-freezer), - Utility room, - Playroom, with doors opening fully onto a large patio, - Master bedroom with super-king bed and ensuite (with bath & separate shower) - Second double room with king-bed (with shower room close by, but not en-suite) - Childs room with single bed, which converts to a double bed, with ensuite (with bath) (this room would work well for children), - a kids room with cabin bed (note, this is a bunk bed, but the bottom bed is only a pull-out, so not good for more than a few nights) - a toddler room, which is upstairs close to the Master Bedroom. All other bedrooms are downstairs. - Outdoor office working space (with WiFi connected). - 3 separate patio spaces, two with dining tables, one for sundowners - Kids outdoor play area We have Fibre-to-the-home ultra-fast broadband and smart TV. We have plenty of board games, books and outdoor activities to fill your time! This is a very old house. We include in the rental price a visit from our cleaner (if you book for more than a week), and weekly visits from the gardener who also will be cutting the lawn. We have only owned the house a year or so and are slowly making it our own. Some of the rooms you find may have evolved from the pictures, for the better.
