We really enjoyed our stay at Penguin. The drive from Cape Town is beautiful, and put you in the holiday mood by the time you leave the M3. The cottage was much bigger that we expected. Clean, stylish, beachhouse vibes. The kitchen is very well equipped and we enjoyed cooking. Quiet bedroom, perfect for a sleep in. The bathroom is beautiful and spacious and we enjoyed the lovely shower. We look forward to visiting again when the weather is hotter so that we can enjoy the pool.

A nice stay overall but there are some important points to mention, to hopefully help future guests. Pros - beautiful apartment, spacious, spotlessly clean and extremely well equipped. Cons - the apartment is below another property, which has it's terrace/balcony directly above the bedroom. We were woken up around 6.45 most mornings by the family up there who had small children, also their terrace furniture was very heavy meaning loud bangs and scrapes on the bedroom ceiling. Not great for relaxation. Secondly the power was off for a whole day of our trip - just a coincidence apparently, not to load shedding, so we could not prepare for it. This also meant the fridge etc was not working. Finally, we had hoped to use the pool - in the end the weather was not warm enough, but if it had been the pool was not very inviting as it had lots of equipment floating in it (hoses, pumps etc) that we were unsure if we could remove. Overall a nice stay but not super relaxing because of these things
