Mountain Cabin Getaway is a North Georgia Mountain log cabin with a lodge feel. Only minutes from Vogel State Park, waterfalls, wineries, tubing, hiking, Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, downtown Blairsville, Helen & Blue Ridge Ga. Right out the back door, there are plenty of outdoor activities to choose from. The property backs up to the Chattahoochee National Park on Yellow Mt. near Blood Mt. and 2 miles from the Appalachian Trail at Neels Gap. “Union County, GA STR License # 001154 As you approach the cabin, you will notice the vast amount of beautiful maples and white pine, a wrap-around porch with swings and rocking chairs to enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Enjoying a cup of coffee on the porch is a perfect way to start your day. Enter our cabin built with gorgeous exposed oak beams and exterior log walls. The open floorplan includes a beautiful great room with open fireplace and full kitchen. The home was built with family in mind and includes an upper and lower level with the master bedroom w/ queen size log bed. (has flatscreen mounted on wall - (ROKU equipped) and 1 full bath on main floor. There are two bedrooms upstairs, one has a queen bed and one has two twin size beds. There is also a full bath upstairs. There is a basement and a gas Grill. Ring floodlight camera on front corner of cabin. Will record by movement 24 hr a day. Some key features of the immediate area are the large amounts of hiking trailheads, waterfalls and scenic opportunities. The property sits 1.6 miles from Vogel State Park on Yellow Mountain. In the fall you can clearly see Blood mountain which is about 1.5 miles to the south and where the Appalachian trail crosses this part of the Appalachians. Enjoy beautiful Helton Creek falls only 1.6 miles away, Desoto Falls only 4 miles away and several other waterfall opportunities within only minutes of the cabin, including our favorite, Dukes Creek Falls (see below for a list of some of our most enjoyed local natural sites). Whether you want to hike, visit waterfalls, fish one of several local lakes or streams, sit in a rocking chair reading a book, sit by the fire or simply unwind and enjoy the fresh air. This cabin has an opportunity for you. Again, The property joins the Oconee National Forest which presents a vast amount of hiking and nature watching opportunities immediately out the back door. Other things to note: The home will be stocked with essentials for your stay, including coffee, linens, quality toilet paper, paper towels, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent and firewood. Some of our closest and most frequented locations: Appalachian National Scenic Trail, Neels Gap , Walasi-Yi, Tesnatee Gap to Cowrock Mountain, Appalachian Trail Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest - Byron Herbert Reece Trail, BrasstownBald (highest point in Ga), DeSoto Falls Recreation Area, Helton Creek Falls - 1.6 miles and a good walk from the cabin on a gravel road, Lake Trahlyta waterfall, Vogel State Park, Dukes Creek Falls Trail (one of our favorites) 23 miles Helen Ga JIMS BBQ, Dollar General, Sunshine Grocery (fresh boiled peanuts and apple cider), Booger Hollow store, Enotah valley meeting/ wedding venue and Reece farm trail and event center are all within just a few miles of the cabin. Steep driveway but safe.😊

I was concerned about the driveway but it proved to be no issue. We had a Civic and a Camry and neither of them had any problems. The part of the driveway that is steepest is asphalted. I certainly would follow the instructions not to stop on it, gravel part especially, but otherwise it was fine. On to the house.... it's a wonderful cabin in the woods. Plenty of room for 6 people. The kitchen is large enough that multiple people can be cooking at once. Lots of pots and pans and they're in good shape. Most rentals they're terrible, these were good. My husband was pleased to see a toaster oven. There was also a normal toaster and a crockpot. The great room is beautiful with a fantastic couch where the end units recline. The fireplace was perfect since we were there during a cold streak. And lots of firewood. Beds were comfortable. If in the area, I'd definitely stay here again.
Loved the cabin, just as described. Secluded and peaceful! Beds were comfortable and it felt very homey. Host was very responsive and helped with giving out recommendations for things to do in the area!
We had a wonderful time at Serina’s place. It was private, well stocked, and very close to Vogel State park and other hiking destinations. Well worth the money, large, yet somehow cozy. We will definitely come back. -One note, we (both cars) did not have issues but the driveway is steep, a very low car might bottom out on the final turn but our SUV and sedan got up without issue!

Very peaceful and away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Loved the porch and open floor plan. Loved the open basement with the washer and dryer.
