Welcome to Balsam Falls! Our luxury riverside home, nestled on 80 acres of forest, is your haven for connection and creativity. Immerse yourself in nature—canoe, hike, or ski, then cool off in a secluded natural pool at the waterfall's base. With friends and family, share home cooked meals followed by a cozy movie night, or a stargaze at the firepit. Experience this slice of paradise in our Canadian summers or explore a winter wonderland. Summer 2024 Schedule: Week long bookings Fri - Fri or Sun - Sun *Indoor Space* The house features an open concept layout on the main floor with a cathedral ceiling and huge windows that provide a sweeping view of the river and forest. The indoor and outdoor dining rooms each elegantly seat ten. The gourmet kitchen is fully equipped with all of the small and large appliances and utensils you need to cook delicious meals. Featuring a five-burner gas stove, microwave, double-door refrigerator, dishwasher, and – for coffee lovers – a grinder, french press, and frother. Coffee, tea, olive oil, and a large selection of spices are complimentary. Downstairs, an oversized U-sectional creates the perfect space to play board games or curl up and watch a movie on the 65-inch TV. Relax and enjoy SmartTV entertainment – Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, and more! Featuring pine floors, the boutique style bedrooms include two rooms on the first floor, each with a Queen bed, and a bedroom downstairs with two Twin-XL beds. The downstairs daybed offers additional sleeping space, with two twin beds. Casper linen sets and towels are provided. The two upstairs bedrooms double as home offices, each equipped with a small desk. The high speed Starlink wifi is great for working remotely, including video conferencing. There are two full bathrooms, one on each floor. The upstairs bathroom has a Jacuzzi shower/bath and the downstairs bathroom has a large standing shower. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are complimentary. *Outdoor Space* In addition to the outdoor dining room on the upper deck, there is a lower deck and screened-in front porch, a great place to read in the afternoon sun. The lower deck houses a gas BBQ, beautiful lounge furniture, and a hammock. All these spaces are fully covered and allow you to enjoy the outdoors rain or shine. We highly recommend early morning yoga on the deck watching the sun rise! An outdoor fire pit is nestled by the balsam fir trees with a jaw-dropping view of the night sky - a perfect spot to stargaze on clear nights. A vast network of walking trails spans the 80 acres. For river fun, there is a rowboat, canoe, life jackets, and a floating dock to swim or fish off.

What a gorgeous place! It exceeded our expectations in every way. The home was spacious, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. It easily accommodated five adults. The view and surroundings are really special! The way the furniture is arranged and the huge windows made it easy to enjoy the river and forest from inside, even when it was rainy. We especially loved morning coffee on the sectional in the closed in deck while taking in the falls. The wood burning stove made a chillier day really cozy. The location is very private - there are no other properties in sight. Hershel was friendly, responsive and accommodating. It was a lovely getaway!
This place was absolutely fantastic—a true paradise! From the warm welcome of the host to the spotless cleanliness, and the breathtaking natural surroundings, every detail was just perfect. The living room felt like a serene oasis, with stunning views of the trees and river that made us feel like we were floating among them. Exploring the nature trails on the property was a highlight, and the well-equipped kitchen made cooking a pleasure. The comfortable beds ensured a restful night's sleep. Overall, it's the ideal spot to relax and disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. We're already planning our return visit to experience its magic in every season!
Hershel's Airbnb listing sets a VERY high standard with its attention to detail and clear communication, a refreshing departure from the norm of half-baked descriptions and sloppy photography. I've never seen better photos for a listing! This should serve as a model for other hosts, a prime example for Airbnb to use in training sessions, teaching hosts how to effectively showcase their properties. As for the cottage itself, it's a fantastic getaway—private, secluded, tranquil, surrounded by beautiful forests, and your own private waterfall. If you love nature, you won't be disappointed. Lot's of space for a group of 8. Hershel's cottage exceeded our expectations. Would go back in a heartbeat!
I would definitely love to go back to this place. It’s beautiful and really peaceful, the place feels just so close to the nature. The scenery from the glass room, the waterfalls - everything is just perfect.
We wanted to celebrate our son’s first birthday at a cottage with a nice view so we would have beautiful memories captured in the pictures. What a view from the living room and sunroom! The house looks even better in person, super spacious (our baby had so much space to explore), comfortable, well decorated and clean. The kitchen has everything you need and more. The TV room downstairs is very comfy and I enjoyed the huge sofa a lot (wish I had one of that at home). The heaters were easy to operate and we also used the beautiful red upstairs stove to get warm and cozy. We spent a lot of time in the sunroom, which is also heated, relaxing and just looking at the amazing surroundings. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine and a note, which was a nice touch. Herschel was kind and easy to get in touch with and responded quickly to our questions. We would definitely go back with a group of friends during summer. Highly recommended!!!
