I think the amount they charged for a 3 night stay was absolutely insane considering it looks like they haven’t updated a single thing in their home for over 20 years, regardless of it being in California. I take that back, they did have the funds to install high definition cameras where they sent us a picture of how our cars were parked within hours of us checking in. It made me feel like we were being watched the whole weekend, which is not something I like considering it was $6k for a 3 night stay. The quality of the home is not great. the doors feel really flimsy, the TVs are small, and kitchens are severely outdated. We went there in the last weekend in April and we couldn’t use the hot tub or spa. I highly doubt that fact was considered in our pricing. The owners also had the nerve to put a replacement toilet handle being sent in the mail in my name, then suggest if we’re bored that I could fix it for them. If Air Bnb allowed more than 1k characters, I’d say something nice. 2 bad
I had a great time here. I wish that the STR rules weren’t so tedious as it puts a strain on the hosts and in turn can put a strain on you and your guests. Otherwise, it’s an excellent location and an even more excellent house.
Great place and location. Parking can somewhat be an issue. Overall was a great weekend with family.
In the summer the house gets very hot, and there are few rooms with screened windows. If you turn off the lights and open the non-screened windows, you get less bugs, and it cools off a bit.

We live both in Incline Village, Nevada and Los Altos, California. We are retired, we own the home in Tahoe City, and we have rented through VRBO and other sites for nearly 20 years. Kathy is a retired flight attendant so we travel often, play golf, ski, and ride our tandem bicycle. We have many positive references in our VRBO #9592 listing but none for Airbnb because we are new hosts.
