The Upper School House is nestled in the centre of Ashburton with views of the surrounding hills. It is one of 3 unique properties at Ashburtons Luxury Lets. Ashburton is one of the prettiest stannary towns (more like a village) on Dartmoor National Park. It has charming independent boutique shops ranging from "the 10 antique trail shops", vintage clothing, galleries, fish deli, artisan baker, local devon butcher, to pubs and eateries and the lively Arts Centre where various live music performances/cinema etc take place most days. Do not leave without eating at Rafiki's a bohemian vegetarian/vegan cafe/restaurant with cocktails in the evening. Not to mention the friendly Italian, Amelia's Osteria which needs to be booked well in advance. The Old Library is fabulous for brunches and coffees. The local Co-op and Spa convenience store is just down the road. Workshops and Courses are available from February 2024 at Craft Mongers (next door) from chocolate making, pottery, basket weaving and many more . Also at Ashburton's Cookery School there are Saturday morning (3 hour) sushi and other cookery courses to choose from. A ten minute stroll from The School House takes you to a fabulous outside heated swimming pool ( open from May to September) with a large lawn to sunbathe in in the summer. The local ancient Church, St. Andrews has services on Sundays and the magnificent Buckfast Abbey is a 10 mins drive away. There is really no need to leave Ashburton other than to explore the coast and surrounding area. A useful mid location between Plymouth, Exeter, Dartmouth and the South Hams.
Buckland Beacon is a 3 minute drive from the School House and Hay Tor and many other attractions are close by such as River Dart Country Park, Pennywell Farm. Dawlish Warren beach is a 30 minute drive and Bantham beach is a 40 minute drive away. Torquay sea front 20 min drive. There are also some pretty local walks through the blue bell woods along the river Ashburn which takes you out into the countryside and onto the Moor.

Limited off street parking is available on North Street. There is a local car park 100 yards away which charges £4.00 for 24 hours and be paid via Ringo.
Alternatively a dedicated parking bay is available upon providing your car reg number 48 hours prior to arrival. (First come first serve) Parking is at Market Street car park, 3 minutes walk.
An EV charging station is a 3 mins drive away at Strawberry fields Farm Shop, Buckfastleigh.
