We even have easy neighborhood hiking along with a short 20 min hike to an amazing waterfall! It is magical here in our immediate wildlife surroundings. Our cute cottage chalet is a cozy home that is 650 sq ft designed efficiently with room to stretch out and storage for your belongings in both bedrooms. The large deck provides additional 250 sq ft of living space under a tree canopy. The chalet is situated in the highly desirable Mittersill Village, located in the heart of the White Mountain National Forest with easy access to many nearby activities including skiing, hiking and biking trails in Franconia Notch, Echo Lake for swimming, the Cannon Aerial Tram and gorgeous walks on The Basin River paths. Not to mention the short drive destination spots, such as Crawford Notch, Kangamangus Hywy and The Cog Railway to the top of Mount Washington. Speaking of which, the dining experiences at the Mount Washington Omni Hotel and the Gondola ride to dine at the top of Bretton Woods Ski Area year round. Other experiences in shopping and restaurants in nearby villages, such as Littleton’s quaint Main Street with many Boutiques, Antique Stores and other Local Made businesses, such as Shillings Brewery with river dining. After a day’s adventure in the vast White Mountains Region, relax under a forest canopy on the back deck where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset filtered through the trees while tipping back your choice drink on the large deck. As you enter the home you will walk into the main living area with expansive windows, cathedral ceilings and brick fireplace with an electric fireplace insert, which provides great ambiance and heat. This home is one of the original homes built in Mittersill in the 1950’s and was designed for a private stay for those who wanted the dining and entertainment features to be at the Mittersill Hotel, which is a short walk away. So, we do not have a separate dining room but a drop leaf table, nestled in the corner that seats four. This open concept is all encompassing of living/dining and flows nicely into the galley style kitchen. Enjoy conversation with friends and family while cooking in the fully stocked kitchen with all of the appliances you will need to prepare your meals. We are herbalists and cooks so you will have plenty of herbs and spices for any culinary needs or brew up a pot of loose leaf herbal tea! An outdoor barbecue is on the back deck for those who enjoy an outdoor cooking experience. The bedrooms are clean, crisp and just the right size to accommodate a queen bed and your belongings. The bedroom adjacent to the bathroom is quietly tucked away down a small hall off of the living room and provides a small closet, dresser and shelving. This room is also where the stackable washer/dryer is located tucked into a second closet. The second bedroom is right off the living room with a small closet, small dresser, hooks and shelving. Both bedrooms have window AC units.
