This charming and cozy cottage is located in West Berlin, 10 minutes outside Liverpool on Nova Scotia’s scenic South Shore. Newly constructed, the cottage looks like its been there for years with its vintage pine shingles which give it a look of turn of the century fish stores so common along the coast in years gone by. The cottage sits overlooking picturesque Blueberry Bay where one can watch the small fishing boats or just admire the ducks and wildlife in the adjacent wetland. Built in 2020, the cottage is a 2 story 1,150 sq.ft. structure located along the Lighthouse Route in West Berlin. The first floor consists of an open concept living area/kitchen storage areas and 1/2 bath. It opens on to a large deck which comes equipped with a BBQ plenty of comfy patio chairs and an unobstructed view of the Atlantic Ocean. There is also an additional screened-in sitting area for escape from the sun or flies. The second floor is comprised of 2 large spacious bedrooms with 10 foot ceilings and amazing views. There is also a full bathroom with “rain head” shower. From the mermaid hanging over the front door to the natural drift wood bannister, the entire cottage is tastefully decorated with folk art and furnishings to give it a cozy nautical theme. The southwestern orientation gives the cottage an abundance of sunshine all day and spectacular sunsets in the evening.

Blueberry Bay Get Away is exactly this. Deceivingly close to the road, once parked and inside, you truly have gotten away from it all. This retreat is welcoming: with its homey and creative decor and layout, to the incredible view of the bay, generous-sized bedrooms and more, I cannot emphasize enough how much my husband and our daughter loved being there - even on a rainy day! We loved waking to the sound of ocean waves and watching seals swim and rest. This dwelling felt like home and we hope to book next season!

Lovely beach themed place. We enjoyed the beautiful beach, sunshine and sunset. Record player was a surprise and we liked it. Close to Liverpool downtown to get groceries stores and the laundry place. Hosts were friendly and helpful!

We were absolutely in love with the Blueberry Bay cottage. My friends and I chose it as our final stay while on a trip to NS, and we kept repeating that we wished we had’ve booked longer! We already are planning our return next summer. It is just 1.5 hours outside of Halifax, which makes it the perfect area to escape to. I can’t explain enough how perfect it was!

We had a great stay at this property. It was very private and was good for families since it was close to water where you could explore looking for crabs and other sea creatures. The host was very responsive to any questions we had and the property had most of the required items for your stay. Look forward to staying back at this property at some point in the future.
