Welcome to our happy place. Come and enjoy our newly renovated family-friendly cottage on the Bruce Peninsula. Located on over half an acre of a beautifully treed lush lot, our cottage is across the street from Miller Lake. There are two lake entry points within walking distance, and beach access across the road. Our cottage is the perfect getaway for a family of four, or two couples looking to enjoy the beauty of the Bruce. Located 15 minutes from Lions Head and 25 minutes from Tobermory. Enjoy the bright and airy interior, and all of the natural morning light that pours through the large, eastern-facing windows. Every detail has been considered, from the Hudson's Bay colour theme throughout the cottage, the crisp white bed sheets, the custom tiled shower, and the soft gold touches. There are boardgames for evenings and rainy afternoons, an assortment of toys for your little ones to enjoy, and a movie projector you can hook up your laptop to (cords provided). There is a large screen hanging in the den for movie nights and a classic popcorn machine to round out the theatre experience. Remember to bring kernels! There is a collection of tapes and CDs to encourage mid-day kitchen dance parties and early 2000's scream singing sessions. There is a dishwasher, washer, and dryer available for your convenience. Dishwasher pods are provided; please bring your own laundry pods that best suit your clothing and sensitive skin needs. The decorative wood burning fireplace in the den is filled with remote-switch battery candles to provide a soft evening glow. There is a propane fireplace in the great room to take off the chill on cooler summer nights. Please do not set the fireplace to higher than a level three on the heat dial. The fireplace is small but mighty and heats up the cottage quickly! There are two ceiling fans - one in the den and one in the great room. Keeping them both running during your stay will allow for great air movement and equalized comfortable room temperatures. Each of the bedrooms provide a comfortable bed, pillows, fresh sheets, and two bath towels per room. A Graco pack-and-play is also available for families with a small child. Please be sure to bring your own sheets/blankets for the pack-and-play that best suit your child's needs. We provide a BBQ for outdoor summer cooking. Please bring your own propane if you'd like to use it. Propane is available for purchase in town, at the Miller Family Camp, or Summer House Park. There is an outdoor fire pit for roasting marshmallows, telling ghost stories, and admiring the Northern Ontario starry night sky. Please note that firewood is not provided. There are roadside stalls that sell firewood along highway 6 and in the small surrounding towns. There is a desk in the back room for those that need to get some work done from the cottage, or for kids that would like to do some crafting. Please note we do not have wifi. You will need to hotspot from your phone to connect to the internet.
