We had a great weekend, it was private, quiet and the views were amazing ☺️ we cooked some amazing food on the fire pit 😋
Gorgeous place, made for a great base to explore Aberfeldy, Loch Tay and the surrounding area. Donna was great and everything was as described
Donna's place is an absolute gem! We had such a brilliant stay. The tiny house is much bigger than we expected and it was beautifully decorated and very clean. Donna was a very helpful host and provided us with kindling and extra fire wood when we arrived, as well as offering us flexible check-out prior to our departure. We were lucky enough to enjoy the fire pit both evenings we stayed, which was lovely after a day of walking to and from Kenmore (4 miles to Kenmore, about an hour and half walk). Would recommend The Courtyard Brasserie & Bar for a nice lunch spot! We will definitely be back in the future. 10/10 experience.
The centre of the Victorian resort and market town of Aberfeldy is just a short drive or a beautiful walk away. Shopping includes delis, bakery, clothing, gift and antique shops. Aberfeldy also offers cultural facilities such as an art galleries, a library, an award- winning independent bookshop and our community owned cinema. There is no shortage of restaurants and cafes throughout the area with something for everyone.
Kenmore, on Loch Tay offers great eating, deli and gift shopping in addition to water sports at Taymouth Marina. Nearby country hotels and restaurants include Fortingall, The Grandtully Hotel and The Ailean Chraggan.
Perthshire is world famous for its field sports. Red deer stalking and grouse shooting are available to let from nearby estates. The River Tay runs through Aberfeldy and is considered to be one of the "Big Four" salmon rivers in Scotland, making it one of the most famous salmon fisheries in the world. For golfers, there are several local courses including Aberfeldy, Strathtay and Pitlochry.
The area is a year-round delight with stunning low level walks to enjoy in the spring and summer, while autumn brings out golden and bronze trees which can be marvelled. For a longer hill day, get some altitude and climb Ben Lawers or Schiehallion. Both mountains have good paths but will require walking boots, waterproofs and plenty of snacks.
Though the area can keep you very busy, spectacular views and wildlife can be viewed from the armchair in the tiny house!
