Surrounded by majestic mountains and glistening oceans, our holiday home is located on the charming Flakstad island, nestled in the heart of Lofoten. Known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, the area boasts a wealth of activities and attractions for visitors of all ages.
Explore nearby fishing villages, hike to breathtaking vistas, or try your hand at fishing in the pristine waters. The area is also home to many local artisans and traditional crafts, making it the perfect place to shop for unique souvenirs and gifts.
Don't miss the chance to take a trip just 5km to the closest fishing village, Sund, where you can visit the renowned Blacksmith, explore the Sund Fisheries Museum and even check out Thor's own glass store for hand-made glass art and jewellery.
At just 10 km from Ramberg, the municipality center of Flakstad, the property offers easy access to stunning white sandy beaches as well as practicalities like a supermarket, gas station and medical centre. The architectural beauty of the local Flakstad church, Lofoten souvenir shops, cozy cafes and restaurants and a hub for watersports (including surfing and kayaking) are also within easy reach across Flakstad island.
For those interested in exploring Lofoten further, Leknes, another regional center with a shopping center, larger grocery stores, and the closest airport, is just 40 km away. A bit further still and you'll find archeological exhibits at the Lofotyr Viking Museum.
In the other direction, Reinefjorden with more restaurants, cafes, and local shops, is 12 km from the house and offers one of Norway's most popular mountain hikes up to Reinebringen. To tick the box of traveling the furthest point of the National Tourist route along the E10, you can also head 24 km to Å, a quaint fishing village with windy roads and picturesque scenery.

The home is conveniently located just off the E10 highway, with off-street parking available right at the property. Additionally, for those travelling by bike, we also have a secure, sheltered area suitable for bicycle storage.
Arriving, Leknes airport is 40km away (45 mins), Svolvær airport just over 100km (1.5hrs) and Moskenes ferry port 20km away (25 minutes).
Once here, we recommend having your own means of transport when staying (car, bike etc) as the bus stop (lines 300 and 742) is a 10 minute walk along the E10.
That being said, even if you don't have transport, there are plenty of activities and nature trails available just outside the door. Popular hiking trails situated directly behind the house offer stunning lakes and mountain views and from Summer 2023 there will also be a boat available for rent that is located directly outside the house.
