Needing a rural place to get away? This cozy 3 bedroom, 2 bath house that sleeps 6 has a front row seat to the beauty of The Ohio River. Relax on our deck, relax river side by the outdoor fire pit, or watch the barge traffic from inside. The house sits within minutes of The Hoosier National Forest offering hiking / fishing and a peaceful atmosphere, 50 minutes from Holiday World, and 55 minutes from French Lick. (WIFI, NO WATER ACCESS) This house offers three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. The kitchen is fully stocked (except for food of course) for all your cooking needs. Located about 50 minutes from Holiday World. The front door has a code lock and you will be given your own code prior to your stay. As there is no need for anyone to let you in, you can arrive at any time. There is a spacious deck with an amazing view of the Ohio river, especially at sunrise. The lower deck has a fire pit that is perfect for roasting marshmallows.

I've stayed at a fair number of Airbnb's but this one was the nicest one I've ever stayed at. Beautiful home and beautifully decorated with EVERYTHING you would need, top quality stuff too. And right above a most interesting river...we sat out on the deck a lot just watching it...Plus, very reasonably priced. Hope to be back soon, so peaceful and cozy.
We enjoyed our stay at Big Timber. It was situated on an oxbow on the Ohio River where we were able to watch barge traffic move up and down the river. The setting was peaceful and great for a quiet getaway on the river.

We loved everything about our stay. The cabin was beautiful, exactly as pictured and described. I enjoyed reading on the deck, watching the barges, buzzards, and beavers. My husband drove the short distance to the boat launch to fish. The only problem was that we didn’t plan a longer stay, I was not ready to leave. This is the second property we’ve rented from Shane and his partner; we would not hesitate to do it again. Great hosts.
Awesome cabin in a beautiful location. When this house was built and furnished, they paid attention to detail. Shane was always responsive when I contacted him with questions prior to our stay. We greatly enjoyed our stay at this location. Very peaceful setting and wonderful cabin.

Even though we are located just 20 minutes off the main highway, Big Timber is very peaceful without feeling isolated. We are on a private dead end road that has just 10 other vacation homes. There is no water access from the property but there is a public boat ramp at the top of our road.

The Derby Tavern, it is 15 minutes away in Derby
Marcy's, it is about 20 minutes away in Leopold.
In Derby, there is a great little convenience store (Derby Market) that stocks most of your basic food needs and a few extras if needed. Including firewood if needed.
The closet grocery store / Walmart is going to be in Tell City or Corydon, both about 40 minutes away.
