Kick back and relax in this calm country retreat. Set on a quiet and leafy lane, just a ten-minute walk from the heart of the pretty village of Swalcliffe, this self-contained annexe offers all you need for a relaxing stay on the edge of the Cotswolds. The village itself boasts a beautifully preserved fifteenth century tithe barn, an ancient parish church and the popular 17th century Stags Head pub. There are glorious walks, bridleways and views in every direction. Relax and listen to the clip-clop of horses’ hooves, tawny owls and woodpeckers. Your cosy retreat offers a smart sitting room with double doors that lead from the driveway. This room has exposed stone walls and wooden beams, a sofa that can convert to a sprung bed, and a television with Freeview and access to Amazon and Netflix for subscribers. The comfortable bedroom comes with a super-king-sized bed and is open-plan with the kitchenette. This is equipped with a combination microwave (mini-oven and grill), small fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, coffee maker and a decent range of kitchen utensils. Double doors from the bedroom lead to a pretty little terrace complete with table, chairs and charcoal barbecue, the perfect place to sit in the sun and relax with a glass of wine.

The property is in an idyllic location, close to charming villages. The home has everything you could need for a break away, with great hosts.
James is an accommodating & welcoming host & helpfully allowed us to change our booking date. The accommodation was warm, comfortable & spotless with everything we needed, super comfy bed! It is also truly dog friendly which is brilliant as our dog is always with us. Lots of places pretend to be dog friendly then try to add extra charges. The little paddock available to give him a run was great. James checked in a few times during our stay incase we needed anything. Would highly recommend & we have rebooked already for June!
Wow ! What a lovely find. James and Roger were brilliant hosts and our stay was wonderful. Great location within easy reach of everywhere we wanted to visit. The place was fully equipped with everything we needed. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay here with our dog, Bow. She very much enjoyed running around their paddock just opposite, too! we literally walked out of the annexe, turned left and into the paddock. A completely private space for her to run off all of her energy. Whilst here we visited all of the little villages - Bourton-on-the-water, Stow-on-the-wold, Upper & Lower Slaughter, Moreton-in-marsh, Daylesford Organic Farm shop, Diddly Squat Farm Shop - all within driving distance. A little village pub just a 5 minute walk up the road. We also visited The Marlstone Tavern - beautiful pie meals! Plus, the Falkland Arms, which is a really cute little pub - very old! When we met James, he was really lovely and so attentive to our needs. Highly recommended this place as your Cotswolds base. Out of the crazy, touristy spots, surrounded by natural beauty, but also close enough to everything you could possibly need. The people locally are also very friendly! Thanks, James! :) Zoe & Kane
Wonderful stay in this spacious and comfy annexe. Beautiful surroundings, all the facilities we needed for our short stay, and a lovely space inside. James was incredibly welcoming too. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting Oxford, Oxfordshire, and the north Cotswolds.

A popular 17th century village pub is within easy walking distance. Soho Farmhouse and the beautiful village of Great Tew are within 6 miles. There is shopping in Banbury (6miles) Chipping Norton and Shipston on Stour (9 miles). Regular trains operate from Banbury to London Marylebone (from 55 mins), Birmingham, Oxford and Stratford upon Avon. Free parking is available at the property.
