The Cumbaza Residence is the private family residence of the Rouffaer-Aranda family, ESCAPE from the routine, DISCONNECT from the world and CONNECT with nature. The 2.5-7.3 hectare property is located in the middle of the Amazon rainforest, between the Cumbaza River and the regional conservation area of the Cerro Escalera mountain range. The house is located in the highest part of the land, from where you will enjoy a wonderful view of the surroundings while listening to the murmur of the river. The cozy 260m2 house gives you, in the middle of the jungle, all the comfort you are looking for. The house has 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 2 showers, kitchen, living room, storage room, a large terrace, natural pool and laundry. In the construction of The Cumbaza Residence we have tried to comply as much as possible with our ecological commitment. The structure of the house is made of concrete, made from the fine sand and stones of the Cumbaza River. All the walls are made of QUINCHA, an ancient construction technique with mud and cane, materials from the same properties as the surrounding area. This technique has been used for more than 8,000 years. It makes the house cooler and more resistant to earthquakes! Likewise, the house's electricity is obtained from solar panels. The water for the house and the pool comes from a nearby stream. It is filtered and treated for use. The hot water for the showers and kitchen is obtained from a solar thermal system. The drain is treated in a biodigester that will provide organic fertilizer for all the plants in our enormous garden. All bedrooms have 1 queen size bed, and the master bedroom has 1 additional single bed. All bedrooms have nightstands and shelves for clothes. The house has a bathroom with toilet and sink. The 2 showers are located in another room, where we also have a sink under a large mirror. In this environment we have shelves for towels and personal care items. In the open kitchen, smell the freshly brewed coffee in the morning, prepare your favorite dishes with a privileged view, and enjoy them at our large rustic wooden table in the dining room, which will also serve for a fun game night before going to sleep. The living room is ideal for resting after your outdoor activities or your place of inspiration while contemplating the wonderful landscape, which is best enjoyed from the large terrace, where you can cook in the traditional clay oven and grill found there. And to cool off in this hot climate, you have the river and its practically exclusive beaches very close, but you can also enjoy the pool with water from a nearby stream, where both adults and children can bathe. Finally, the laundry and auxiliary room are located at the back of the house. If, despite the wonders of The Cumbaza Residence and its surroundings, you still need a connection to the outside world, we have satellite internet. Due to our commitment to the environment, at the residence we only use eco-friendly and biodegradable products for personal hygiene and cleaning. We have natural ZERO WASTE soaps and shampoos so you don't have to bring your own. REFORESTATION In 2019, the land only had a few trees and was covered in thick tall grass. We then went to the Tarapoto state nursery to request more than 2,000 plants, including timber trees, fruit trees, medicinal and ornamental plants, for our reforestation project, which we have planted during this year 2022, creating a sustainable space as part of our environmental commitment. ​
