Sinnington · 整套乡村小屋 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Goose End Cottage, North Yorkshire
Take a break and unwind in a characterful cottage set in beautiful countryside. This 18th century grade-II listed property is right beside the River Seven, in the picturesque village of Sinnington, and the North York Moors National Park. The cottage is full of original character, whilst having all the amenities needed for a relaxing break. Many amazing walks can be enjoyed from right outside the door and the wonderful village pub and restaurant is only a few minutes walk away. The cottage is split over two levels. The spacious yet cosy ground floor includes a well appointed open plan kitchen, dining table and living room area with gas fired stove. There is a Smart TV with Amazon Fire Stick allowing access to most streaming services, Netflix, Prime, Disney +, BBC iPlayer etc. Upstairs is a large landing leading to a separate bedroom with king size bed and storage. The bathroom is off the landing and includes a sink, bath, toilet and mirror (no shower). Upstairs is full of character but head height is reduced in some areas due to the nature and age of the property. Directly outside is a large patio which looks out across the garden. The patio is perfect for a morning coffee, daytime relaxation or an evening drink. The garden includes a lawn, flower beds, and beautifully maintained apple, pear, plum and cherry trees. To the front of the cottage is a bridle path where you will regularly see horses passing and scenic views over the River Seven and village green.
Sarah and Sam’s beautiful cottage was the perfect stay. The stunning backdrop of the village was just the icing on the cake. We booked for some peaceful time away and it did just that. Goose End cottage is homely, warm and welcoming. We didn’t want to leave and are already wanting to go back. Both hosts were so friendly, the little details like some complimentary coffee pods and shortbread were really appreciated and we enjoyed the local cats, horse and even a pheasant visit. The nearest pub is only a few minutes walk which we enjoyed and had we been for longer would have ventured further afield. All in all, would recommend to anyway wanting a relaxing getaway!
Just returned from a much needed break with our infant son, Goose End Farm did not disappoint. Sara and her family are the perfect hosts. Their cottage is cosy and very fitting with the countryside vibe we were looking for. Sara was very attentive to our every need and didn't hurry us away when our time was up (those with young children can appreciate how helpful that is!) Would highly recommend this "Home away from home" to anyone.
The cottage is in the picturesque village of Sinnington, a few miles from Pickering, Kirkbymoorside and 15 minutes from beautiful Helmsley. The cottage is situated within the National Park and ideally placed to explore the North York Moors. The North York Moors heritage steam railway starts at nearby Pickering, taking you to Levisham, Goathland, Grosmont and Whitby. The cottage is well placed to visit the wider area of York, Whitby, Scarborough and the coast.
There is a wonderful village pub / restaurant only a few minutes’ walk away; The Fox & Hounds, Sinnington. There is also a Pick-Your-Own strawberry farm and shop selling their own produce, cakes and plants, within walking distance. The village is also home to Friars Hill Riding School where horse riding lessons or hacks, either group or individual, are available.
There are three deliveries a week from the local 'milkman'. Milk, juices, fruit, vegetables, dairy products and eggs etc can all be ordered. Otherwise, there are supermarkets only 5 minutes’ drive away and plenty of shops and cafes in the neighbouring towns and villages.
Many wonderful walks can be enjoyed from the village with no need to use transport, a great way to explore other local pubs in the neighbouring villages, including a micro-brewery! The local area is perfect for cyclists and features many miles of scenic road riding and extensive purpose built mountain bike trials in nearby Dalby Forest.
Free off road parking is available for up to 2 cars at the property. An EV charger is available at the cottage for an additional cost.
Local train stations are Malton (25 minute drive) and York for mainline connections (50 minute drive).
A heritage stream railway line runs from Pickering to Levisham, Goathland, Grosmont and Whitby from the Spring into September, as well as special weekends and holidays outside this time.
The 128 bus runs through the village from Scarborough, through Pickering to Helmsley (both ways).
