Genevieve‘s place was the perfect spot for rest and reflection. My boyfriend was working nearby and it was such a wonderful opportunity for us that I could come with the dogs and hang out. Conveniently located between Nelson and Salmo for groceries and other amenities. The kitchen was well equipped for making dinners and homemade lunches. I think my boyfriend was the envy of everyone at work for having home-cooked meals while everyone else stayed at a hotel in Castlegar. Genevieve was able to accommodate a few extra nights so we could enjoy the Kootneys together when my boyfriend’s job was complete. The Ymir Hotel and pub was walking distance and a friendly place to grab a pint and the bakery opened up at the end of our visit and had outstanding offerings. Friendly, neighbours and local hikes were an additional bonus.

We had a wonderful time at this characterful house. It was the perfect size for our family (husband, wife and two young adult boys). Ymir is a beautiful, eclectic place full of interesting people and places to explore. The house was spotless and there were lots of thoughtful touches such as the ground Kicking Horse coffee. We made friends with George the pot-bellied pig next door and made to sure to leave him lots of scraps. My youngest son and I love exploring forestry roads by dual-sport motorcycle, and there are many, many of these in the area to explore. Highly recommended, and we would totally book this place again.

Went here with a group of friends. We had a great time. It was nice and quiet. Cute house. Great open concept. 6 adults sharing one bathroom was not a big deal when you communicate with one another’s schedule. Close to a cute coffee shop. Neighbour Leslie was nice and friendly. We met her pig George! Genevieve was very responsive and friendly. We recommend this place!
