This comfortable and hand built home is a commitment to sustainability and sits lightly amidst its bush surrounds within the town of Bundeena, forest by the sea, within the Royal National Park. The Coastal track, Bonnievale basin and many first nations rock carvings are just a few of the attractions within walking distance from this paradise. This home is an exceptional and unique shipping container house, as seen in Habitus Magazine Issue #56 June '23. The Ship House is designed and built, by interior designer Kelly Ross and husband, also co owners of the JEAN General Store within the Bundeena township. Just 1 hour south of Sydney, this 3 bedroom house is a luxurious yet laid back escape situated 2 mins walk from the town centre, surrounding beaches and ferry. Enjoy swimming, hiking, kayaking, fishing and exploring the surrounds of the Royal National Park, the worlds second oldest National Park. The property is located directly behind the shopping strip and minutes from the local clubs and the 4 surrounding beaches. The house is a two storey property constructed from 6 x 40 foot and 1 x 20 foot shipping containers. Three bedrooms are situated downstairs and kitchen and large open plan living upstairs with a large balcony that captures both ocean and city views. Bedroom 1 - Queen bed with ensuite * Master bedroom with Queen bed, generous robe and ensuite Bedroom 2 - King bed * King size bed with built in hanging rails and shelving close to main bath Bedroom 3 - Queen bed * Queen bed with garden and ocean views Kitchen *ILVE gas oven and stove with rotisserie. Double door fridge, dishwasher and microwave. Walk In butlers pantry well equipped with condiments. Kitchen is well equipped with cookware, dinnerware and utensils. Cafe window with ocean views with SMEG gas barbecue. Breville Coffee Machine and cafe window that opens up onto balcony with stool seating. Dining Room * Dining table for 6 - 8 people. Living Room * Wood stove, Samsung smart TV, Large modular sofa, bifold doors connecting to balcony. Balcony * Day bed, SMEG gas barbecue, corner modular sofa and coffee table, clothes line. Recline and relax on the daybed with both ocean and city skyline views.

We had an absolutely delightful and relaxing weekend at Kelly’s. the house is just beautiful and full of interesting bits and pieces (plus everything you could ever need!). The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen well stocked and everything is clean. Highly recommend!
We loved every bit of our 6-night stay at The Ship House! Kelly has curated a beautiful home that we felt privileged to experience - there are abundant curios and textures to delight at every turn. A mix of sunny & rainy days saw our rotating group of 6 (3 adults, 3 teenagers) make different use of the house and surrounds: mornings down at one of the two kid-friendly beaches a 5-min walk away (Hordern and Gunyah) or a 5-min drive (Jibbon) or a 15-min drive (Wattamolla); afternoons spent playing games on the large dining table or reading on the various comfy couches at treetop level inside and out; and nights bingeing the various streaming channels on the high quality TV. Different zones to hang out in meant it never felt crowded. Our favourite time of the day was wine o'clock on the deck, enjoying the sea views and breeze with local birds popping in. Thank you Kelly and family for opening up your generous, thoughtful home to us, we didn't want to leave!
Kelly was a fantastic host! Clear, simple but helpful instructions! Such a cool spot and a really groovy house! Would definitely go back when the chance comes up again!

We are surrounded by bush and sea however Bundeena is a residential suburb.
The street upon which the driveway is accessed is a private road.
All residents on this road are part of a strata that we belong to.
We have agreed to respect each other with 10 km / hr speed limit and friendly and respectful behaviour and noise levels at all times.
There is no metered parking in Bundeena but parking in the main street can get very busy and parking is tricky at these times.
There is a larger car park near the ferry wharf if you needed to drive to the shops / IGA or ferry.
The ferry travels to Cronulla on the hour from 7am - 7pm and does not travel at 1pm on weekdays.
The train from Cronulla is the fasted way to Sydney and its suburbs.
There is also a train station in Sutherland and from there you can get an Uber or Taxi to Bundeena. You will more than likely not be able to call a taxi into Bundeena to take you out of the park and into the city.
