Had a great time in this low key Sierra town. Had a lot of Snow but only two power outages which considering the storms, was pretty good. Lauren and Jon were very responsive to a couple minor issues I had. For anyone coming up in the winter I would make sure you have firewood and bring some spare water in case the pipes freeze. I would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Lauren and Jobs cabin for a month. Despite appearing isolated, the cabin has neighbors in all directions, and is located in the middle of Sierra City. The area felt safe and all of our interactions with the locals were positive. We stayed at this cabin during June-July and had 99.8%+ uptime on electricity and internet. The WiFi connection at the cabin was strong enough to stream movies, video chat, and browse the web. The location could not be better for outdoorsie types. In just 5-10 minutes of driving, there are infinite opportunities for hiking, fishing, and biking. Just make sure to do grocery shopping before arriving at the cabin, and know how to connect your cellphone to the wifi so that you can make/receive phone calls, because you likely won't receive cell service at the cabin. Overall, Lauren and Jon are fantastic hosts, they were always responsive, reasonable, and kind. We would stay here again.
