Weaver’s nest is surrounded by small local farms where the farmers toil with hoes to produce food for their families. As you travel from Jinja to Buyala you pass trough local villages with all manner of local produce for sale. You will get a serious look at life for the locals as they carry their clothes down to the river to wash and cart water in jerry cans back to their homes. You may even get the opportunity to visit the local kindergarten for orphaned and abandoned children started by an Australian couple in 2023.

You will need private transport to the property. International travelers are permitted to drive in Uganda with an international licence. Vehicles can be hired in Uganda, however if you are staying for less than 3 months it is likely that you will be better served by using a local driver.
We can connect you with our driver Tom. Tom has been transporting westerners for many years. Tom is our personal choice for a driver to transport us from the airport to the property so you can be assured he is a extremely conservative driver with your safety upper most in his mind and his rates are very reasonable.
