Penha de França is quickly transforming into one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Lisbon. It’s the perfect area to stay in if you want to walking-distance from the city centre, yet removed enough to guarantee a tranquil, village-like feel.
You won’t find hordes of tourists in this part of town - instead lots of locals and expats who are soaking up the newest and coolest shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. Filled with gorgeous view points, it’s also a great spot for photography lovers.
Here’s a list of must-see local attractions and their distances (metres / minutes walking) from the apartment. If catching an UBER or Bolt then these times will of course be much quicker:
- Miradouro da Penha de França (650m / 10 min)
- Jardim da Cerca. (1.8k / 23 min)
- Museu Nacional do Azulejo / National Tile Museum. (2k / 23 min)
- Feira da Ladra (2.2k / 28 min)
- Castelo de S. Jorge (2.6k / 33 min)

Taxis
Taxi services such as UBER & Bolt are available to download in Lisbon. The apartment is a 10 - 15 minute taxi ride to the city centre and usually costs between €5 - €10.
Public Transport
Public transport options take a little longer (approx 20 - 30 mins) into the city centre but are easy and regular.
Train
Arroios, is the nearest train station, a short 9 minute walk from the front door.
Bus
There are several bus routes (708, 706 etc) which head towards the centre but 735 is the most direct (door to door) option - the stop, Pç. Paiva Couceiro is 2 mins from the front door.
