This 2 bedroom garden level 1000 sq-ft suite includes a large family room with a couch, stereo, dedicated desk work space, library, microwave, mini-fridge w/freezer, and a full bathroom with tub/shower. The walk from the front door to your private living space down the stairs is short. We have high speed WiFi for streaming on your devices. We welcome everyone to our home. We know this is a lot of details but wanted to make sure you know what to expect. Please read the entire listing. Suite Access: from the front door, walk about 20 feet through our main floor then go down 7 carpeted stairs to a landing then another 6 carpeted stairs to the floor. The suite is not wheel-chair accessible. After we welcome you to our home upon your arrival, we will be available to interact with you as much or as little as you like. Queen Bedroom: queen bed, plush pillows, and blackout shades. There is also a ceiling fan with adjustable speeds, a bedside table with a reading lamp, and a chair. The large closet offers plenty of room to unpack and hang your clothes or use the shelves for storage. Also in the closet are extra pillows, blankets, iron, ironing board, a space heater, and plenty of clothes hangers. There are plenty of outlets for charging electronic devices. Twin Bedroom: Two twin beds, a large closet with plenty of storage and hanging space, a bedside table and lamp, an adjustable-speed ceiling fan, a bench, a dresser with a hutch for storage, and blackout shades. Since this bedroom is directly below the kitchen, you may hear some footsteps from above, primarily in the morning and evenings. Dedicated Desk Work Space/Library: desk with room for a laptop and other office essentials and a strong WiFi signal. The library is floor-to-ceiling bookcases with books ranging from children’s to young adult to classics to a large sci-fi collection as well as various family board games. You are welcome to read anything you want but please put it back before you leave. Family Room: large couch & ottoman, mini-refrigerator with freezer, side table with lamp, and a 90’s era stereo (bring your CDs and cassette mix tapes!) with Bluetooth connectivity. There are also yoga mats, exercise bands and a few hand weights. We have a card table and 4 fold out chairs (not pictured) that are available for extra seating to eat or work. Food prep area: microwave oven, Keurig (bring your own K-cups), 4 sets of plates, bowls, glasses, utensils, and napkins; 2 reusable water bottles, 2 coffee tumblers, and cleaning/drying supplies. There is plenty of room in the fridge for take-out leftovers and drinks while the freezer will easily accommodate several half-gallon ice cream cartons! Full Bathroom: private bathroom includes a tub and shower with adjustable, hand held shower and body wash/shampoo/conditioner. There is also a sink with a mirror and plenty of horizontal space for all your family's toiletries and a hair dryer with diffuser. Front Deck: you are welcome to relax on the couch on our shaded front deck Public Transportation: You don't need a car to stay here. Our house is in a very walkable town with easy access to public transportation (RTD - a block away) which will take you to Boulder (10 miles), Denver (20 miles), Nederland (27 miles), Eldora ski area (32 miles), Denver International Airport (35 miles), and Rocky Mountain National Park (45 miles). Walking: A 5 min walk will get you to the nearest bus stop, a full grocery store (King Soopers), two large grassy parks (both with very cool playgrounds), and the Lafayette Public Library. A 10 min walk brings you to the coffee shops, bars, breweries, and restaurants in downtown Lafayette as well as to the world-class recreation center which has something for everyone in your family. Driving: We are centrally located with easy access to US-287, I-25, and US-36 and RTD bus routes. We live about 10 miles from Boulder and 20 miles from Denver; Denver International Airport is 35 miles away. Things to Do: Lafayette is a small town with much to offer. The grocery store, library, and recreation center are just steps away from our house. The downtown went through a really nice renovation a few years ago and has a safe, active vibe. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the downtown Lafayette bars, restaurants, craft breweries, boutique stores, a chocolaterie and gelato store (Stam), coffee shops (East Simpson Coffee Company, Brew, Stam, ...) book store (Read Queen), and sandwich shops (our kids' favorite is Eats & Sweets). Some favorite nearby activities include hiking in Chautauqua mountain park, shopping at Pearl Street pedestrian mall in Boulder, wildlife viewing in Rocky Mountain National Park and skiing in the Eldora Ski Area. Eldorado Canyon is a great place for rock climbing and hiking. If the weather isn't cooperating with your outdoor plans, there is always the amazing Lafayette recreation center (1 mile away) which includes a pool, water slide, lazy river, weight rooms, racquetball courts, saunas and hot tubs.
