Comfy ,cozy and well insulated, compact tiny house . The tiny house sits on a trailer and It is built with sips panels (Structurally insulated panels) , with double glazing , so is warm in the winter and cool in the summer and has plenty of choices of heating or cooling. There is also a deck in front on which you can enjoy a cold drink. The nearby trees loose their leaves in winter which allows the sun to shine in and they provide shade in the summer. The Tiny house has a full bathroom. ( shower, toilet & hand basin) But be aware being a tiny house it’s a compact bathroom. It has a sliding door between the bathroom/ toilet and the bedroom and there is also a sliding door between the bedroom and lounge for privacy There is a Washing machine/ dryer combo, plus a dish- drawer in the kitchen ( washing powder, dishwasher tablets etc provided). The kitchen has a double hob top, microwave , Dishwasher and small fridge along with a full fridge/ freezer. There are plenty of pots and pans etc. The`kitchen does not have an oven. Complimentary Tea, coffee, sugar, milk and a few sweet treats to have with a cup of tea are provided. The tiny house has a comfortable Queen bed in a sunny room with blackout curtains and an electric blanket on the bed for extra warmth and extra blankets if you’re cold. The bedroom has a side ranch slider door that opens for extra fresh air if you desire. There is a comfortable couch and a 50 inch TV in the lounge Also there are no pets on the property except for the odd neighbours cat that likes the fact that we feed the wild birds and the wild rabbits that particularly like our garden. The tiny house has a pretty outlook over parklike grounds and there is fence between us and our neighbour’s which does make for a bit of privacy. Also you can see the mountains from the property when winter comes. The tiny house is nestled on a cul-de-sac only 50 metres from a large lovely park and we are very protected from the wind off the lake, because of all the surrounding trees. A short 5 mins walk through the large park to the lake and the famous Wanaka Tree. 20 mins walk to Wanaka CBD. On the route to Treble Cone ski field and just around the corner from the road heading to Cardrona ski field. 4 mins drive to the carpark of the Mt Roy hiking trail and Rippon vinyard
I enjoyed my first time staying in a Tiny home. Everything was just as listed. It was quiet and peaceful. It is very close to the lake. Susan is a very nice and responsive host.
The tiny house was well furnished and felt so warm and cosy. We enjoyed visiting the park right next to it, which led straight to the Wānaka Tree. Susan also gave good local food recommendations which we enjoyed very much.
It may be a tiny home, but it contained everything we needed and was very comfortable. Susan is a really responsive host, and the location is ideal for local walks as well as having Wanaka parkrun right on the doorstep. Perfect!
Really cool place to stay. Super easy to find and great location. Walking distance to beach and Centre of town. Photos match what we experienced. Lovely host who was super helpful
Lovely tree lined streets. A lovely large park nearby with 100 yrs old trees.
2 mins walk to the lake through the nearby park and the famous Wanaka tree and then you can turn left and traverse a great walking path along the lake via Edgewater hotel ( 8 mins walk from the tiny house ) for a meal or coffee outside or by the roaring fire ,overlooking the lake.
If you really feel fit the trail goes all the way to Glendu bay, about 13 kms. Has fabulous views part way without doing the whole walk though.
There is no public transport in Wanaka so if you don’t have a car you can either catch a taxis or walk.
If you have a car ,even in the busy times of year, If you have patience you can always find a car park in Town.
If you are coming by either bus or shuttle from Queenstown or further away - to the drop off at the lake front in Wanaka and you give me enough advanced notice. I can arrange to pick up you and your luggage and drop you off at the tiny house and likewise when you depart to catch another shuttle/ bus But I do need plenty of notice.

I'm a retired self employed hairdresser who moved from Auckland city to Wanaka with my husband and family, for a better style of life from our hectic city life in Auckland, which we have found in Wanaka. We are well traveled, but these days are enjoying being out in our boat on the lake or enjoying the many vineyards and restaurants in and around central Otago or snowshoeing up in the snow We are truly blessed to live in such a lovely place
