Enjoy a stay in this beautifully decorated central, 2 bed flat with parking. The flat is located in an old converted cider apple warehouse just moments walk away from the bustling Totnes high street. Although just a 2 bed flat, it is huge inside and is stylishly decorated. The location is quiet and peaceful and yet moments from Totnes' large array of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. You are also just a 5 minute walk from the Dart river and some beautiful walks in open countryside. As you enter the flat, you will first come into the dining area, with the kitchen to your right as well as the living space. To the left is a long hallway down to the twin and double bedrooms and finally the bathroom.
We had a great nights stay in Karin’s flat. It had everything we needed as a family and very peaceful. Don’t be put off by the exterior of the building as it’s lovely inside and couldn’t be better located for all the shops and restaurants in Totnes. We would stay again.
A quirky and attractive apartment. Don’t be put off by the less than prepossessing exterior. Very convenient for great independent shops and pubs, the whole town being walkable (if you’re ok with hills). Very comfy bed. No TV (no problem for me and forewarned) but also no microwave which would be convenient. Parking immediately outside is free. Karin is a star and very responsive. I’m going back for another week at least.
Karin's flat was very clean and peaceful - we loved the quirky decor and interesting library. Would highly recommend :)
Totnes is a historical town in the heart of South Devon which is a charming combination of beautiful countryside with independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes. There is a vast choice of food and drink with an emphasis on organic and local production.
If you're looking for a relaxed independent cafe to enjoy a delicious coffee and something to nibble, I would highly recommend The Hairy Barista at the top of the high street.
Alternatively, if you're seeking somewhere different to go for dinner, Taguchi at the bottom of town is an exceptional Japanese and great value for money. Taguchi is on Ticklemore street, just off the high street.
In terms of pubs, there are so many great choices but some of my personal favourites are the Totnes Brewing Company just a few minutes walk from the flat, at the top of the high street or if you're seeking something more scenic, I would recommend the Steam Packet Inn whereby you can sit outside next to the river. If you can travel by car, The Waterman's Arm's in Ashprington is very picturesque and well worth a visit. It is approximately a 9 minute drive.
Totnes is known for its sense of community, liveliness and diversity. Every Friday and Saturday, the town thrives with a busy market in the market square just one minute away with local traders selling handmade crafts, antiques, gifts, food, clothes and so much more! I really recommend you check it out during your stay if you can.
If you're seeking some activities/things to do during your stay, Dartington Hall Estate is just a mile outside of Totnes offering a walk around the beautiful gardens, a gift shop, cafe and bar as well as events and cinema screenings. Not far from here is also Dartington Cider-press Centre which focusses on arts and crafts with a fantastic selection of shops. Both of these are accessible via foot if you're in the mood for a walk. There is a two mile popular foot and cycle path starting in Totnes whereby you can walk along the River Dart to both The Cider Press Centre and Dartington Hall estate and is accessible for everyone. More information can be found at "Totnes-Dartington Access for All Path" on the Dartington Trust website.
There are many lovely walks both in and around Totnes. Surrounding areas also consist of quaint towns and villages to explore and not forgetting that the South Hams is home to some of the most stunning coastlines and beaches!
Totnes train station is a ten-minute walk from the town centre and is positioned between Exeter and Plymouth. It is a major station on the Great Western Railway service from London Paddington to Penzance.
Due to the convenient and central location of the flat, it is only a short walk from Totnes train station - taking approximately 12 minutes.
There is also a large selection of bus routes to and from Totnes if you're looking to explore the area. National Express coaches are also available in Totnes calling at London Heathrow and London Victoria, whereby the bus stop is on Coronation Road, in the centre of town. This is approximately a 7-minute walk from Blue ball.
If travelling by car, there is parking in the premises car park however if you need additional parking, there are plenty of Pay and Display car parks in the town for both long and short stays.
