With its older charm, modern comforts, and unbeatable proximity to the beach, this 2-bedroom, 2-bath unit offers an ideal getaway. Only 1 block from beautiful Lake Michigan and South Blvd Beach, you will love our spacious, sunny apt. Whether you're staying for a short visit or a lengthy one, you'll feel the comfort of home on a tree-lined street. The unit has hardwood floors throughout, comfortable bedrooms, a fully stocked kitchen, dining room, and a sunroom looking out on the backyard patio. The unit is the 1st floor apartment of a duplex, and we live in the unit upstairs. The Airbnb has hardwood floors throughout. We've held on to the charm by keeping much of the original woodwork and paned doors between rooms, so there is some floor creaking that comes with older homes. The unit has all modern amenities, including a microwave, gas stove and double oven. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking most any meal, and there is a kuerig/coffee maker as well. For the beach we have 4 Tommy Bahama backpack beach chairs, an umbrella, low rise table and buggy for transport. Make sure to bring sunscreen! There are plenty of bike and walking trails nearby and we’ve got 4 Bikes with locks for your use.

We had a great time at Sheila’s place, it’s clean, spacious, and beautifully decorated. Close to the beach which our toddlers loved and a friendly neighborhood. Location is great, close to restaurants and downtown Chicago. Looking forward to staying here again when in town!

Oh my gosh! Sheila’s beautiful home exceeded our expectations in so many ways! Charming, spotless clean, thoughtful details throughout,equipped with all kitchen amenities, linens etc. Very spacious with a lovely outside area,..If you are traveling in this area this is the place to stay! Many thanks to our gracious hosts🤗

This is a lovely place. Very attractive furnishings & very clean. The beds were comfortable & there were plenty of nice towels & bedding provided. We appreciated the full length mirrors in each bedroom as well as nightstands & lamps on both sides of the beds. Little things that are often missing in other AirBnb homes. We did not get to spend much time in the space due to other plans but we did enjoy a morning in the bright & inviting sunroom. Having 2 bathrooms is a bonus - one has a tub only & the other has a shower only. We did have one Friday evening with trouble finding a parking space but Sheila made sure we had no problem on the next night. Very accommodating. We will happily return for a stay the next time we visit with more than 2 people.

the pace was everything and more than described. I guess you can't put into words just how great a place can be with so much natural beauty and conveniences so close. Nice neighborhood, beautiful lake in view as you walk out your front door every morning. speaking of walking, everything is in walking distance and it was peaceful and a tranquil experience walking along the beach/lake or the neighborhood to one of the fine restaraunts nearby.

Sheila could not have been a better host. Great communication, quick responses to the few questions we had. Beautiful space, elegant and spotlessly clean. The bathrooms and kitchen were so well stocked and the extra touches - snacks, coffee, filtered water, half-and-half in the fridge - were icing on the cake. Every amenity we needed and more. Beds were made up with beautiful linens and great pillows. It felt posh. The sunroom in the rear is very special. Highly recommended.

South Boulevard beach is just a block away! And just to the north of that beach is lovely Garden Park with scenic views and a playground for the kids. There are picnic areas with grills as well.
Directly north via 2 miles of gorgeous, residential and lakefront paths is Northwestern University’s magnificent campus.
And a little more than 2 miles directly south, through the Roger’s Park neighborhood of Chicago, is Loyola University’s main campus. And there are some great restaurants right there including one of our favorites, Semilla’s, and bopNgrill - a Korean/burger fusion joint featured on triple D!
Slightly west of the lakefront (4-5 blocks), starting at Main St you’ll find restaurants and shopping. Many of these appear in our guidebook. Evanston has 4-5 “downtowns” with the largest bordered by Clark St on the North, Lake St on the South and between Chicago and Maple on the East and West respectively.
The commercial area closest to us is on Main St near Chicago. Awesome restaurants and cute specialty shops.
On the North side of Evanston check out Central St. Darling boutiques, salons, Foodstuffs Deli, Great Harvest Bread, Spice, and great restaurants.
3 Grocery Stores: Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and Jewel are all within 2 miles of us.
If you’re here on a Saturday during Spring, Summer and Autumn don’t miss the Farmers Market. Fresh produce, flowers, arts and crafts, Bakeries and other delicious food made to order. Raclette from Baked Cheese Haus is a favorite. But there are so many more.
