The Vishuis guesthouse consists of a series of renovated and modernized fishermen’s cottages . It has 4 luxury suites which are situated around a charming courtyard with a splash pool and fragrant garden. The Vishuis is a renovated fisherman's cottage, which is one of the heritage buildings in Hermanus. It is in the heart of the old village just above The Old Harbor in the centre of the town. However, it is has been refurbished with modern fittings and amenities. It has 4 luxury suites which are situated around a charming courtyard with a splash pool and fragrant garden. It is stylishly decorated with an extensive collection of contemporary South African art. There is off street parking. It is ideal for a large group of people who wish to spend time together, but need their private space too.

Marc was a fantastic host. We rented all units and the house which was absolutely perfect for a family holiday. Great communal space whilst giving a really good level of privacy in each separate unit. We loved the location close to centre of town. Would highly recommend!

This is a beautiful home with garden cottages that is very conveniently located in Hermanus. Sparkling clean, tastefully decorated, and truly hospitable host. Our family all agree it was the best accommodation on our South African holiday, and we wish we would’ve stayed longer! Definitely recommend!
We stayed as a family, parents and three kids and partners. This was a perfect set up! Main house with one room and big bathroom, then three separate and self sufficient bungalows, so you could be social or have your privacy. The place is immaculate and has everything you need, super easy walk into town too. We'd definitely recommend!

The Vishuis is situated right in the middle of the historic village. Guests are able to walk to all the local amenities. There are wonderful restaurants and cafes on the doorstep, as well as the local food shops.
Guests will also be able to shop at the charming idiosyncratic shops and boutiques.
The Cliff Path which winds along the seafront from the new harbor to Grotto beach, can be accessed very close to The Vishuis.
There is a marine tidal pool within 250m from the guesthouse.
Hermanus is known for the many activities: cycling, golf, paragliding, kayaking, mountain hiking, diving, photography, wine tasting, whale watching, bay cruises. All the contact details are available on site.
Or you can relax at the peaceful Vishuis and enjoy the many creature comforts in this private idyllic guesthouse
The public transport is not very user friendly or efficient in Hermanus. However, guests will mostly walk to most destinations, so it isn't really a problem.
