Argyll and Bute Council · 整套民居 · 3室4床2.0卫 · 可住6人 · Seaside house on Isle of Gigha
Gorgeous family house with wrap-round sea views on stunning island. Five minutes walk across the field to a sandy beach with shallow turquoise water. Living room with stove, study, sun room, kitchen-dining room. Perfect for swimming, paddle boarding, hiking, canoeing and biking - and The Boathouse Michelin-listed seafood restaurant. Gigha is 3 hours’ drive from Glasgow, and a 20min ferry. The island is seven miles long, and our house is in the village near the shop and the Gigha Hotel and bar. The house has a large kitchen-dining room, a living room with wood burning stove, and study, and a sun room looking out to sea. Upstairs there are three bedrooms - King, Double and Twin all with sea views. There is a large garden with lawn and bench. The washing machine and dryer are in the garage and also used for the house laundry. There’s a walk-in shower room downstairs and a bath with shower upstairs. We welcome dogs downstairs (where we have wood floors) and there is an outdoor hot and cold tap for muddy paws and boots!
The house was fabulously clean with top quality kitchen utensils and bedding and the most comfortable beds I have slept in in a holiday let(and I am very fussy lol). Great outside space with the garden and plenty room to park. A quick mention to the glorious toiletries in the house that smell wonderful from the Gigha’s natural skincare. A perfectly central house to stay on Gigha, beside the shop that has the best fish take away I have had and the menu changes all the time depending on local fish available, well done the Neuk. Close to a cafe that does amazing snacks all day if you don’t want to cook. Great access to all the walks and cycle paths.
If you are looking at this right now just BOOK! The most beautiful house woth the most stunning views at all angles. We were 6 ladies all friends who do wild swimming. This was like heaven. We came equipped with enough food and drinks to feed the villiage as we read theres only 1 shop and 1 restaurant, however they are fabulous. The kitchen fully equipped. We cooked 3 meals a day and nothing was missing. All the utensils of a high standard. Throughout the house the furnishings are classy and expensive. All beds extremely comfortable with crisp white bedding. We all slept soundly. Cannot fault anything its all 5 star! The outside garage was greatly welcomed for our swimming gear. The garden is huge and beautiful. Things i felt were missing were an outside patio table and chairs. We wanted to eat alfreso but this wasn't an option. Only seats for 4 ppl. We all had our own camping chairs . Also a BBQ and firepit would have been highly appreciated Brought our own. Ghigha is magical!
We really enjoyed our stay in this attractive, clean, and well appointed house. We liked the good use of local products and even the dogs were made to feel welcome. The house is well situated for a stay on the beautiful island of Gigha.
Fantastic house in a beautiful location and close to shops, etc Top notch utensils and items in the house. Good parking and private. Lots to do on the wonderful island and all the islanders we met were friendly and helpful. Would recommend to visit and stay. Thanks Kate and Nicola.
Ceol Mara is five minutes walk from a gorgeous small sandy beach, with shallow waters. It’s across the field path opposite the Gigha Hotel, and another path leads to The Boathouse seafood restaurant and beach. Ardminish village has a Post Office and shop, The Nook seafood takeaway (hours vary) and the tropical-style Achamore Gardens and 9-hole community golf course are nearby. A short car trip or bike ride (hire by the ferry) takes you to the white sand of the twin beaches at the north of the island. The island has paths to various sites including standing stones and the wind turbines and southern beaches. Take day trips to Tarbert, Campbeltown and Machrihanish. Check the Visit Gigha website for more details.
You can park your car safely in our garden - or just leave your car at Tayinloan ferry terminal and use bikes or go on foot. There are well-marked bike-friendly paths around the island. Gigha is only 7 miles long! There is also a Scottish Citylink bus from Glasgow to Campbeltown which stops at Tayinloan. You can also rent kayaks, bikes and paddle boards at Gigha Boats and Activity Centre by the ferry.
