Our stay was a great experience. It was straightforward to get to the place, with a single bus to/from Odawara station, and the host offered to pick us up from Sounzan bus station. We were really impressed by the meals - both breakfast and dinner were an absolute feast of delicious, authentic Japanese food. We thoroughly enjoyed the onsens as well, including the private onsen that was available for an extra fee. This was the perfect place for us to relax after two weeks of hectic travelling around Japan and a very memorable part of our trip. Thanks very much!

If you would like a beautiful place to stay, surrounded by nature, with a hot bath and beautiful food served by kind ladies you should stay here. Mizuno accommodated my request for no meat, and the ladies serving kindly adjusted the size of the portions! I loved my room, and looking out at the mountain and listening to the birds. The only slightly odd thing was the 50s rat pack jaz music playing continuously. Everything else is very classy and classical music may have suited the mood better.

Make the most of your stay here! Mizu no Kaori is such a beautiful Ryokan, you wont want to leave. My wife and I booked their private onsen *twice*, and thoroughly enjoyed it together. The onsen is mineral rich, milky-white water (skin is so soft after!), so it is recommended you only dip 40 minutes at a time. Additionally, it had an amazing mountain view! We VERY highly recommend you also take their dinner course, which was such a fancy and unique experience. The food was extremely good and also uniquely homemade. We dipped in the public onsen the next morning and had it all to ourselves. The breakfast was amazing as well! Overall, if you stay here, you're going to want to maximize the entire 3PM to 10AM and enjoy the ryokan! Highly recommended!
