Stoodleigh Inn, with over 90 years history, is our local village Inn and is a 10 minute walk away. It has a cosy bar area with a log fire, real ales and an attractive garden with children’s play area.
The Mason’s Arms is an award winning one star Michelin restaurant, situated in the village of Knowstone (9 miles) providing exceptional local cuisine.
The Lost Kitchen is an informal and relaxed restaurant celebrating seasonal food and wood-fired cooking. The feasting barn has beautiful views and a terrace garden to dine on, set in the hamlet of Chettiscombe amongst the rolling hills of Mid-Devon (6 miles).
As well as Exmoor National Park, there are several National Trust Properties in the area including Knightshayes (5 miles), Killerton (15 miles), Dunster Castle and working mill (23 miles) and Arlington Court (34 miles).
Stoodleigh is a great base for exploring some of Devon's walking and cycling routes.
Enjoy a trip on the last remaining Horse-Drawn Barge in Devon, and one of the last in the whole of the UK. The trip from Tiverton's Grand Western Canal offers a truly unique and memorable living heritage experience.
The cottage is ideally located for exploring both the North and South Devon coasts.
There are plenty of activities nearby including fishing and canoeing at Wimbleball Lake; surfing on the famous waves of Saunton Sands and Croyde or you can just relax, read a book and watch the wildlife go by! The area is renound for red deer, pheasants and birds of prey!
