Living the slow way amidst nature Perfectly nestled in the agricultural terraces, a typical landscape of the Island, Botanica Living is a touristic farm property that harmoniously combines the contemporary design of its architecture with the preservation of the historical and natural legacy of the traditional agricultural farms predominant in the surrounding area. Built in an ecological and sustainable way, this property allows its guests to enjoy a peaceful environment, characteristic of the rural territory where it is located, while still enjoying the comfort and elegance of its light filled, apartments. All three apartments have fully equipped kitchens. In the apartments there is also a small working desk where you can find an iPad Pro equipped with a keyboard which can be used either to watch TV or streaming channels (free Netflix is available), or to work remotely with access to the 1 gigabyte speed Wi-Fi network. All apartments have Queen size beds and a spacious walk-in shower bathroom. A Bluetooth speaker and a picnic basket are also at guest´s disposal, as well as electric bikes. Guest´s can also enjoy the panoramic swimming pool with great views over the Atlantic ocean and Cabo Girão mountain, or enjoy a warm bath in our jacuzzi. Botanica Living also offers flowered gardens and an organic farm. This countryside property is located in the peaceful rural village of Quinta Grande, close to the picturesque fishing village of Câmara de Lobos - made famous by the paintings of Sir Winston Churchill upon his days spent on the Island – on the south coast of the Island, where blue skies and mild temperatures are predominant throughout the year. A few minutes’ walk from the property, there is the paradisiacal Fajã dos Padres, an agricultural farm only accessible by cable car or by sea, where our guests can enjoy one complimentary entrance and swim in the crystalline temperate Atlantic Sea waters. Not far from our property, across the valley, guests can also admire the spectacular views from Cabo Girão, the highest sea cliff in Europe or, further north, visit the vineyards of Estreito de Câmara de Lobos, world famous for Madeira Wine, while enjoying the local and genuine “espetada”. The cosmopolitan and vibrant capital city of Funchal is also just a 7-minute car drive from Botanica Living location. With excellent access to the main motorway, Botanica Living is a great starting point to explore the exuberant natural landscapes of the Island and discover the authenticity of its historic villages and the customs and traditions of its hospitable people. Inserted in a family agricultural property, where the hosts Filipe and Cristina live with their twelve-year-old son, the guests will be able to experience the local lifestyle and find hosts guidance and support, while maintaining the privacy and comfort of their own apartments. By appointment, we also offer on-site experiences, like sourdough bread and other cooking and crafts workshops.
