This charming and cosy 1930’s cottage is rich with a mix of antique and vintage books, collections of poetry, writers manuscripts, many novels along with a few epic modern tales or two. Situated in the majestic Blue Mountains, where the alpine air tickles your taste buds for a time that has since past, yet seems quite familiar. While you are here visiting this magical land, looked after for centuries by the Gundungurra and Dharug First Nations people, it is an absolute must to visit Echo Point Look Out and Scenic World in Katoomba. Other MUST’s include, the village of Wentworth Falls and its namesake waterfall, Wentworth Falls Lake, Leura Mall- the quintessential local village shops and the numerous bush walks and hiking trails that dot this magical landscape. The Cottage Two deluxe Bedrooms, each with its own sumptuous queen bed, dressed with cottons, linens and velvet. A cot can be provided, apron request. (The cot is not stored at the property, Ms Gilda Wordsmith. Therefore guests must prebook the cot, to ensure it is organised before the date of their stay.) A dedicated library, complete with desk and an oh so comfortable executive chair, which will help you complete that work task easily and even assist you in writing your own memoir…..so said the chair. Ducted air-conditioning keeps the space warm or cool, as needed, depending on the season. A well equipped kitchen features, electric oven, cooktop, microwave, Italian stove top coffee maker and a Nespresso machine with milk attachment, kettle and toaster. There are numerous cook books, so if your inner chef comes out to play, Ms Gilda provides you with a few baking tray options too! Just off the kitchen is a seperate dining room where you can enjoy your meals, by the fire place. Flameless candles with in the brick fire place create a beautiful glow for romance ….or an added atmospheric tool for your legendary story telling. Candles are not permitted at Ms Gilda’s, as efforts for complete fire safety are adhered to at all times. Velvet curtains surround the lounge room, along with hundreds of books and super cosy, seating that invites you to spend hours relaxed and reclined. The bathing room features a large bath situated below the shower. Please note, individuals who have trouble with mobility may find this a concern, guests are provided a non slip mat. A large enclosed verandah sits off the lounge room, and is a great space for morning coffees or teas. It’s also the perfect spot for an evening beverage as the sun sets. A north facing paved courtyard off the dining room, At Ms Gilda’s, is yet another fabulous place to enjoy a seasoned brunch or pot of slowly brewed tea. Feel free to walk the entire grounds of the property and admire the over 93 year old Pine Trees. Ms Gilda often wonders about the fantastical tales these trees could tell!
