Penlan is a beautiful 200 year old cottage set on the bank of the River Dee overlooking the 400 year old Carrog bridge. It is situated in the picturesque village of Carrog in the Berwyn Mountains seven miles west of Llangollen. It can accommodate up to 7 in 3 double bedrooms. It has a kitchen/dining room and a living room with spectacular views over the river and bridge. There is a bathroom and a shower room and a study. There is a large upper terrace and river bank garden with seating. Penlan Cottage is on four floors, but from the roadside it appears to be a traditional two storey cottage. One enters from the roadside at the second floor level with the kitchen/dining room and the lounge. The kitchen is fully fitted and equipped with double over, electric hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. The lounge is very comfortable with two couches, an armchair and a great view out over the river. On the third floor above is a large family bedroom, a double bedroom and a toilet-shower room. The family bedroom has a super-king sized double bed, a single bed and a cot (a high chair also available) plus wardrobe and chest of drawers. The other bedroom has a double bed and fitted wardrobe. Going down from entry level to the first floor there is another double bedroom with wardrobe and chest of drawers. On the ground floor there is a spacious bathroom with toilet, a second lounge/study (with an additional open-out sofa bed) and a utility area equipped with washing machine and drier. There is also a second fridge and a freezer at this level.
This was our first time in Wales and we chose this Airbnb for 3 days. We couldn’t have opted for a better one. The view was stunning, the house was squeaky clean and it got all the amenities we needed. Would definitely recommend this place. It’s quite accessible to the other activities we wanted to do. Thanks Sally!
The house was very equipped with everything you needed. The location was ideal with very easy access to tourist locations. The views from the house were stunning and every window had a beautiful view. We would definitely visit again .
