As a Air Force retiree and almost an empty nester, my children decided that since I have the space, I should look into this venture. I've lived in Europe for nine years and traveled extensively. There were many times that I stayed with friends of friends of friends and they took me in and made me feel at home, like Turkey, England and Switzerland. I was more comfortable in their homes than if I was in a hotel because there was someone that could explain to me where to go and what to do, or not. As a host, I I will treat each of you as family. I enjoy the diverse makeup of the world, but have found that based on my experiences we are more alike than different. I am a vegan going on almost 3 years now. I love Phoenix, Arizona for the warm weather; it benefits my growing pains! Although it gets really hot for about four months, I can definitely handle eight months of beautiful weather. I enjoy the interaction of diverse people. I love reading, arts & crafts, and keeping busy in my garden. I love my dogs; they are my companions. I also love traveling, experiencing and seeing the community; not necessarily traveling to an all-inclusive, in which you miss out on the place that you want to see. The most enjoyable part of my travels was picking up new ideas, adding to my customs and traditions and emerging different food ideas into mine.
