@miners_cabin Miner's Cabin is tucked away at the end of a quiet residential cul-de-sac in a remote location. With quiet neighbours and an enclosed view, it's an old house with views of Baw Baw National Park. With a well-stocked kitchen, huge windows, fireplace, outdoor baths and fire pit, Miners Cabin offers a restful and quiet space to relax and unwind. A 15 minute drive to historic Walhalla, beautiful walks and hikes and only 40 minutes to the snow fields. NOTE: There are two outdoor baths, (with hot water for 2 full baths before needing to re-heat) not a hot tub* Living room The large, open plan living room features a split system aircon, wood fire place, large, 5-seater cinema style super comfortable couch and two equally comfortable recliners. There is a growing collection of books, games and a few crafty things, including lego for the little ones. Bedrooms Bedroom 1 - The main bedroom has a small ensuite and a double bed (with queen-sized quilt). On a clear morning you can watch the sun rise through the window. Bedroom 2 - This bedroom is larger and has a queen sized bed and can fit a Portacot. Bedroom 3 - The third bedroom has two bunk beds. The room is small and quite basic but very comfy linen is supplied. The Portacot and high chair are available on request and there is an anti-slip mat in the bathtub for the little ones. Heating As well as the fireplace and AC, there are electric blankets on the beds and bar heaters in all bedrooms. Kitchen The fully-equipped kitchen is a hardwood timber kitchen with a new oven, induction cooktop, a microwave, blender, Nespresso machine, 6 cup espresso pot for the cooktop, coffee grinder and dishwasher. You will find sauces, dressings, oils, spices, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milk for your stay. If it's in the kitchen, please help yourself. Bathrooms The main bathroom is small and old but clean, has great water pressure and also contains a small bath tub. The ensuite in the double bedroom is smaller again but contains a toilet, sink and shower. This shower is fine but the other one is a bit more spacious. Outside There is a fire pit and 2 outdoor baths, plumbed with hot water out the back and you're welcome to take the outdoor dining seats down to the fire pit.
This was our first time staying in an air bnb and it was a fantastic experience. The house was beautiful and felt so cosy. There were games and other activities for the kids. The outdoor baths were beautiful and a hit for all of us. Located in a beautiful area with spectacular views we even saw some deer from the back window. Linda was a great host.
Linda's place was wonderful. You felt as though you were a personal guest. Peaceful, clean house with calming vibes. Great kitchen. Wonderful view. Fairy lights...everything made you feel right at home and Linda immediately responded to every question. Many thanks, Linda. it was a privilege stating there.
Light and airy home in a peaceful location. Very thoughtfully equipped with everything you will need. The outside baths are a great feature. We had a very relaxing time and would love to stay again.
We stayed there for two nights and loved the living area which was spacious and open. Views from there and outside are nice, full of greens. We felt unhurried and peaceful staying there. It's a nice touch to have the boardgames and umbrellas there as it was spitting when we did a stroll around the area. Thank you for the little details as umbrellas are the one thing which I forgot to bring! The beds are comfortable and warm. We did not even need to use the electric blankets. Hot water is limited and takes time to be reboiled once used up, so make sure not to take the outside baths and showers at the same time. Rawson is also close to Walhalla which makes a day trip so easy.
This is a quiet residential area, the house is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac facing the forest of Baw Baw National Park. The deck and backyard is large and private.
You can walk to the general store, Rawson Stockyard pub and various hikes and walks in the area.
The general store is ok for basics but best to get all supplies in Moe or Traralgon which are both a 30 minute drive. If you have pets, the Crater Lake walk is only a 5 minute walk and a lovely short circuit.
This is a remote area so parking won't be a problem. You can walk to some hikes, the local pub and the general store. You can walk your dog at Crater Lake.
