We were 2 girls travelling to Meghalaya and decided to stay at Anne’s place and boy, was it the best decision I made?! Anne is a beautiful person and I’m so glad we got to know this family. She cared for us, fed us and looked after us like family. Phil, her son, made our evenings better with his piano and you all should tell him to pursue a career in music because he has a gift! Anne plays too and she’s just as good :) Special thanks to Caeser, Bella and Stella (the dog family)! Waking up every morning to them and the delicious and thoughtful breakfast made our stay even more beautiful. The house is stunning and well kept. We faced no issues whatsoever. Had the best time and there’s a whole lot of missing happening right now. I wish we could stay longer :’)
Good stay
We are a family of three (2 adults and one child) stayed for two nights at this beautiful property Russet with the flower hedge. This is little far from the Police bazaar which is the hub of all activity (Shillong has really bad traffic). We had hired a cab for the entire stay in Shillong so that was not of any concern to us. This is beautiful old house and room comes with a small kitchen and private bath. It has every tiny thing which one might need during their stay including sewing kit, press, functional kitchen, guide books, take away menus (with recommendations). Anne, our host can give competition to any hotel buffet with the kind of choices she put on plate. She even served doughnut on our second day especially for my little girl. Anne is a great host. The breakfast was sumptuous and was had along with some interesting conversations. Great rustic place for a family to stay. It enhanced our experience of visiting Meghalaya.
Anne is a wonderful host, she is very helpful although the place is little far from Police Bazar it is still manageable. The place is clean and all the required aminities were there. A very good place to stay at Shillong.

I love to research and share the traditional cultural stories associated with communities and places throughout Meghalaya as well as ponder the changes taking place our society. Having travelled widely in India and other places myself-I have had the opportunity of meeting many travellers and sharing stories and laughs. This has motivated me to set up my own B&B so that I can in someway return the easy and relaxed hospitality I have enjoyed from other hosts and meet new people.
