Perfect for cyclists or groups visiting the beautiful Surrey Hills, Alberi is a peaceful chalet-style annex backing onto woodland at the end of our garden. It's a unique property built by the architects who designed the main house to provide guest accommodation. It's open plan (aside from the bathroom!) with a sleeping platform on each end of the house (one double; one single and tiny). Please note one room is closed to guests as the owner uses it an office (when we are not hosting). Flexible fully open plan accommodation sleeping 2/3, with 2 sleeping platforms in the eaves (1 double, 1 single), and a sofa bed in the living area. Not recommended for kids under 12 or anyone with accessibility issues, due to ladders leading onto sleep platforms. 2023: brand new Bosch oven, John Lewis induction hob, new kitchen equipment and Japanese futons from The Futon Company. Outdoor decked seating area with seating area for guests to enjoy.

cute architecturally impressive building at the end of the garden. all amenities included and beds were comfy. House and surroundings are well presented and laid out. Good local pubs and shops a short drive away.
100% recommend Alberi for a stay - it's a beautiful place in a beautiful spot. Completely exceeded my expectations. It is utterly pristine, the furnishings and equipment are extremely high-quality and Nicky is a fantastic host. Laying in bed and bathing in moonlight through the skylight was a particular highlight (although you can shut the blinds if that's not your jam). It's a wonderful place.

East Horsley is a beautiful historic village in between Guildford and Leatherhead, just 10 minutes from the M25 and A3. It has two sets of shops, a great popular pub just 10 mins walk from home, an Italian restaurant, a curry house and a delicious Chinese takeaway. We're very lucky to be in the Surrey Hills - an area of outstanding beauty for good reason, with Box Hill and Leith Hill offering incredible views.
There are some beautiful local walks and cycling routes. We use the AllTrails app to take the kids to see new places and visit a pub or two along the way in one of the pretty villages such as Shere or the Abingers. The area is hugely popular with cyclists, and Alberi would be a perfect bolthole for a cyclist group looking to rest after a long day - we even have storage for bikes if needed.
If you're looking for a day out without heading to London there are several National Trusts nearby, two vineyards offering tours and tastings, and an Opera House within two miles of Alberi!
Finally, if you're attending a local wedding you may prefer to stay at Alberi than one of the expensive local hotels - we're flexible on check in / out times too.
If you're driving, we're about 15 minutes from the M25 motorway and 10 minutes from the A3. East Horsley is about 10 minutes by car from the pretty town of Cobham which has some great restaurants and bars. We're just 15 minutes from the larger cathedral town of Guildford which has lots of shops, restaurants and leisure facilities (swimming, ice skating, bowling and more at the Spectrum).
We're about 50 minutes from London by train. Horsley station is 10 - 15 minutes on foot from home, with trains going regularly to London Waterloo (about four an hour during the day) and south to Guildford in 15 minutes.
