A beautiful 1800s Irish cottage with a working artist studio, tastefully restored in the centre of Inishowen, with access to historical landscapes and beautiful beaches. The retreat is ideal for families or small groups, but perfect for musicians, writers and painters. We offer optional oil painting workshops in the studio. These are paid for in advance through Airbnb. Most guests enjoy painting land or seascapes, but you can let us know if you'd like something different. The cottage was built from traditional, local materials and we have restored it using these traditions where possible. It has two twin bedrooms, a small modern bathroom with shower, toilet and basin. There's a utility room with fridge and washing machine. The modern kitchen includes a gas stove and electric oven. The living area, adjoining the kitchen, has a large sofa, two armchairs, bookcase full of books and games, a woodburning stove (we leave you a basket of logs to start with) and dining area.

Andy and Sinead are wondeful hosts and their property is a dream. They are both very welcoming and friendly. We were treated to delicious homemade bread, with jam, milk and butter as our welcome gift. It was absolutely yummy and so appreciated after our long journey. Beautifully, tastefully, artistic decor in the cottage. It has been very kindly restored with lots of love put into every inch of it. So cosy and comfortable. A little home away from home. Very peaceful and quiet just listening to the sounds of nature and the crackling of the fire. It is just bliss. I will definitely be back as they are both beautiful people and I look forward to more wonderful conversations around the fire! Thank you for everything!

Sinéad and Andy were amazing hosts! Their Airbnb was absolutely gorgeous, it was a real retreat! We were met on arrival with freshly baked bread and sticks for the fire. The cottage itself was spotless and finished beautifully. We jam packed our visit with lots of trips to local beaches and towns however you very much could sit in the cosy cottage all day! Thank you so much for such a lovely stay - we can’t wait to return!!
We had the most peacefaul and relaxing stay at this beautifully restored cottage in an amazing part of Donegal. It has everything you need for the perfect break and makes it super easy to feel like you're getting away from it all. The fresh soda bread and delicious homemade jam on arrival were a lovely touch. Thanks for hosting us and giving us heaps of suggestions for things to do and explore in the area!

Amongst rolling hills and fields, the cottage sits in a traditional Irish rural landscape. We are on a very quiet country lane about 2km from the town of Carndonagh, County Donegal.
The local town of Carndonagh is about a 30-minute walk away along country lanes. Local taxis are reliable and relatively cheap if you don't have a car and there are buses to other local places, Derry and beyond.
Carndonagh has plenty of free parking and a car is the ideal way to discover the Inishowen Peninsula, with its scenic hills and beaches that are often off the beaten track!
