Built in 1910, you'll go back in time when you step foot one of the few Dogtrots still standing in Arkansas. Newly restored, it was originally designed w/ open-ended passage that runs through the center of a house, flanked by two enclosed living spaces. This living museum takes you through many decades of the 20th century. Get a taste of early country living with updated comforts. Home sits on 1 acre of land w/ views of the Ozarks. When the house was built, there was no such thing as indoor plumbing or air conditioning. Electricity was also added at a later date. The design of the house was intended to be a wind tunnel to heat/cool the house. You open both porch doors, windows, etc. and allow for the natural air to flow in throughout the house. We added the first HVAC in the house after we purchased it. Plumbing was added sometime last century so be aware when booking this home, the bathroom is no where near the bedrooms. All wet areas are grouped in the back of the house. The bedrooms are on the north side of the house and the living areas are on the south side with the Dogtrot enclosed hallway running between them.
