Mistletoe is a boutique house having 7 well-furnished rooms with balconyies, a cafe serving home-cooked food, baked goodies, a common living room and library, a wood-fired clay oven, and a unisex Ayurveda spa room, and homely comforts and safety. Daffodils is a junior family suite having a bedroom with a king-size bed, and an ensuite bathroom; it has a living room with a bunk bed that can sleep one adult and a child, a sofa chair, reading cum workstation, an openable sliding window with a view. "As a home stay what one could expect from Mistletoe: The rooms are spacious, fairly well appointed with modern shower rooms and private balcony and entry. We do not offer luxury, only the nature around is luxury. Our Guests could expect a peaceful, homely atmosphere that is clean, hygienic and safe for families, couples, women travelers, solo travelers where the hosts’ family lives in the premises. Mistletoe is also a cozy place for small groups of friends, who look for a quite-undisturbed place for a chill out. Mistletoe is not recommended for late night parties and noisy socializing. We recommend hikes, treks and plantation tours, nature walks, bird watching and photography etc as activities in Munnar. Food as a major ingredient during holidays; we could offer neat home cooked food, customized to your taste with prior discussions.

The homestay was very neat and clean. The home cooked meals were very delicious. Jo was very helpful with transportation and other queries. If you are looking for a place away from the city, and with mountain view from the balcony, this is a must go. Our stay was very peaceful.
We loved spending time in Mistletoe! We were doubting if we should book a place in Munnar village itself, but we were so glad we didn’t. Mistletoe is located in a beautiful place, waking up with that view 🤩 and Jo hooked us up with a great tuktuk driver who showed is al the beauty that area had to offer. And we absolutely loved the breakfast and dinner in Mistletoe, especcialy the starter with chicken and the salad. Would definitely recommand this place
It was a great stay at Mistletoe - one of the best experiences I have had booking via Airbnb. The place looks exactly as advertised with clean, well-maintained rooms, an extremely well put-together set up, esp the dining area, and with beautiful views. We actually cut our day excursion short because I wanted to be back in the balcony during sunset. The delicious home-cooked food, cold beer in the fridge and fantastic coffee were the icing on the cake.
My husband and I stayed at The Mistletoe homestay for 2 nights. The place is located slightly before the touristy and crowded Munnar which is a big plus. Jo's family and staff are warm and highly professional. The rooms are clean and have a fabulous view of the valley. You can various varieties of trees and birds from the balcony. The breakfast and meals served are delicious, reasonably priced and cooked with love. I would urge you to try out the local Kerala cuisine here. Jo also made us wood fired pizzas on Sat night. Also, he is extremely prompt in his communication and recommended a reliable driver Mr. Sijo for pick up and drop from Kochi airport + for sightseeing in Munnar. Special call out for Jawed, a staff member as well, for making our stay comfortable.
Comfy and clean room with lovely bathroom, great shower, plenty of hot water and balcony with view of the hills. Jo is an excellent guide and keen to help and arrange trips and taxis. The food cooked by Jo and his family was really excellent and good value. There are a few forest walks from the home stay, but if you want cafes etc you will need transport which Jo can arrange. Mistletoe is located on a busy road and consequently at times there is typical Indian traffic noise.

The neighborhood is quite and farmers live in and around.
Mistletoe home is situated among the spice plantations where our neighbors mostly farmers live and rare cattle etc. Spices are grown in and around, we are not surrounded by tea gardens, however you get a view of the tea gardens at a distance and it very accessible by mode of on road transportation. Since it is located in a village atmosphere night life is quite and sleepy after 8 pm.
During the day guests can walk in the trails near by and to the river 300 meters down, a the river trail is a very quite and beautiful spot one should not miss.
on NH 85 Kochi - Madurai and 17 kms before Munnar and 10 kms after Adimaly town.

I am Johnson, you could call me Joe. I have been a hospitality professional for more than a decade, now own and operate a homestay along with my family. I am a foodie both love to eat and cook! I love nature, birds, treks, yoga, books, and movies, and most especially love to meet and interact with people from different cultures and nationalities! In spite of Covid 19, it is still a beautiful word! Belong to the third generation of the migrants who have moved from the Central Kerala district of Kottayam( Erstwhile Travancore kingdom) in the early 1930s. Jo is a graduate in Psychology from Adamoson University, Manila, Philippines, and also a Certified Hotel Administrator by American Hotel & Motel Association and has more than 16 years of hospitality exposure with reputed brands like Club Mahindra, Habitat Hospitality, in operations, sales & marketing, administration, HR. In the homestay venture, Ms. Jeena Elizabeth, Jo’s wife is rather your host. Jeena is a postgraduate in Mathematics and hails from the city of Kochi. Mr. Joseph Oommen, the head of the house is a skilled baker of the traditional baking era whose expertise in baking and cooking will be the prime flavoring agent during the experience at Mistletoe. Mrs. Annamma, Joseph’s wife is from a conservative Syrian Christian family of Kottayam, it is only an added blessing that Annamma has excellent cooking skills especially in Syrian Christian delicacies. And their jovial grandsons Nirmal & Thejas, aged six and three would certainly add some rhythm and life to the entire ambiance at Mistletoe Munnar.
