Enterprise · 整套民居 · 3室6床1.0卫 · 可住8人 · The Woodshed - charming 3 bdrm/1 bath bungalow
The Woodshed began as a place for musicians to gather, teach, rehearse, jam, and rest their weary heads. It still serves this purpose, and has now become available to others who are traveling through the peaceful little town of Enterprise, Oregon. Whether you're on your way to beautiful Wallowa Lake, a hike in the Eagle Cap Wilderness, or simply taking a weekend to relax and take in the beauty of Wallowa County, you'll love our sweet little craftsman bungalow. Built in 1910, this cozy little bungalow has a charm all its own. Close to downtown Enterprise, with views of the majestic Wallowa Mountains, the house is situated very conveniently for whatever adventures your trip entails. Health food store, liquor store, and local grocery are less than a block away. Two of the three bedrooms have queen beds, the third has a twin and a twin/trundle...perfect for kids. The futon couch in the living room opens to a double bed as well, making the space great for groups or families. There's a full bath with tub/shower, and the kitchen has range and mini-fridge, coffee makers, dishes, pots and pans, and pretty much anything you'd need. Our pride and joy is the vintage upright Steinway piano in the living room...please treat her kindly--she'd love to be gently played. There are usually a handful of stringed instruments lying around for your use as well. Some of the history of this house is evident on the "wall of fame"--band posters and love notes from the various musicians who've stayed here over the last couple of decades. Enjoy the vintage stereo with working turntable, AM/FM radio and 8-track tape player! (LPs provided) Also a variety of board games. There's a private back yard to hang out in, or grab a chair on the front porch and enjoy the mountain view. This is not a new home, but clean and comfortable. 5% of rental fees go to the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance (an Oregon 501(c)3 nonprofit organization) in support of local music programs.
We were only there for a short time but it was a great location and the host was very helpful with instructions.
Great place for our family of musicians and for our dog too! Beautiful view of the mountains and a nice big backyard! Easy walk to Sugartime bakery, and other hotspots in Enterprise.
You'll be a very short walk away from Ruby Peak Naturals--a lovely little health-food store with lunch service. Any other grocery needs can be met at the Dollar Stretcher, located in the same building, as is the liquor store. Also just steps away is Moonshine Glass, where you can try your hand at glass blowing guided by glass master Stirling Webb. Also very close by is Hurricane Creek Coffee, a favorite drive-through breakfast and beverage stop.
A few blocks to away is the famous Terminal Gravity Brewing - "middle of nowhere, center of the universe" for the best in local eats and brews, with lots of outdoor seating, live music and a great vibe.
Downtown Enterprise is just a few blocks away where you'll find other eateries like the historic Range Rider (great food, cocktails, and live music), Sugar Time Bakery, Leo's Bar and Grill, Red Rooster Cafe, Cloud Nine Bakery, Thai Enterprise (take-out), and La Laguna Mexican Restaurant. There are a few thrift stores and antiques, Wild Carrot Herbals, The Bookloft, and a nice city park with tennis court, playground, and picnic area.
River Street, a.k.a. Hurricane Creek Road, can be quite busy at times, so we heavily discourage street parking or attempting to back out of the driveway. There's plenty of room in the back yard to park and turn around.
In the summer season there is a local transit mini-bus that stops at the grocery parking lot nearby for rides to Joseph and Wallowa Lake. A schedule is available online if you search for Community Connection Transit Wallowa County.
