While Cornwall is famous for its raw majestic beauty, there are still some relatively undiscovered little gems, such as Porthilly, on the Camel Estuary. Our hire caravans are conveniently located only a few minutes’ walk from Porthilly beach on the peaceful ‘Porthilly Beach Holiday Park’. Our site makes the perfect base for couples and families looking to explore North Cornwall. If we do not have availability for this caravan, please take a look at our profile to see other options on site. This caravan (no.10 - The Blue Coworth) was new for 2023 with lovely fresh bedding, linen, towels, crockery and cutlery. It is the perfect space to walk back to after an afternoon spent relaxing on the beach. The caravan is double glazed, has central heating and an electric fireplace making it just as cosy in the cooler months. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas cooker and hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, teapot, cafetiere and good quality cutlery, crockery and pans. There is a large fridge freezer. The living area is light and airy, with plenty of space to entertain. There are French doors which open out onto a small decked area where you can relax on deckchairs whilst you look out across a peaceful tree lined meadow. Outside there is a picnic bench and Weber BBQ for those warm summer evenings, along with two sun loungers to kick back and relax on. The shed is large enough to store bikes, wetsuits, surfboards etc. Guests have the luxury of being less than a 3 minute walk to one of Cornwall’s finest beaches. Porthilly is just a stone's throw from Rock and all the activities that the Camel estuary has to offer. Rock is renowned as one of the major water-sport centres in Cornwall - sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, canoeing and rowing are all activities which can be carried out in the relatively calm waters of the estuary. If you fancy keeping your feet on solid ground, walk onto the coastal path which leads around the golden sand dunes to Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Pentire Point and beyond. Across the estuary from Porthilly and Rock is the harbour town of Padstow, a mecca for all things foodie, offering a versatile choice from fine dining to fish and chips on the quay. Hop on the foot ferry at Rock to explore this vibrant fishing town, or walk out to Stepper Point with its panoramic sea views of the estuary and Atlantic Ocean.
Had a wonderful week in caravan 10. Location was everything, walk to beaches, Rock and the ferry to Padstow. Love Porthilly Cove, so peaceful and ever changing scenery. Hope to visit again
The holiday was a wonderfully peaceful getaway. The site is at the end of a lane so there is no traffic noise. The site is a nice compact size with quiet lodgers in other caravans. The children enjoyed playing on the tree swings and we felt happy for them to play outside safely on their own. We saw plenty of birds and even bunnies out on the grass in the morning. The beach is a 3-5 minute stroll away and is very secluded. The caravan itself was very comfortable. The heating was a great feature and kept us very toasty. The shower was a good hot temperature and surprisingly powerful. The large fridge and freezer was good, although the milk cartons did not stay in door (tray sides too small so fell it). The oven and hob were good and all cookware you could possibly need was supplied. WiFi worked quite well. Wadebridge has a nice chip shop restaurant. We hired bikes and cycled to Padstow which cost £70 for a family. We thoroughly enjoyed and recommend for a peaceful family hol.
Lovely caravan, very new and spotless inside. kitchen is well equipped including tea, coffee, sugar, washing liquid etc. The van was well equipped and every thing in it is really nice quality. carolanne and Luke were great and if we needed anything at all they were very quick to respond . The caravan site is very peaceful and only a shortwalk in to Rock which has a selection of great cafes and pubs, nice shops including a great bakers. Carolanne provided loads of useful information on the local area which was really helpful. Everything was as described and we would thoroughly recommend this air bnb as a great place to stay.
Pristine caravan with great space on a lovely caravan site. Hosts were really responsive. Lots of local recommendations.
Porthilly is set on the Camel Estuary in North Cornwall. We are are close enough for you to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Rock and all that it has to offer, but secluded enough to enjoy some rest and relaxation away from the busy crowds. There are several shops, bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance. In the evening, why not walk across the beach to The Mariners, a contemporary pub and restaurant overlooking the estuary and run by award winning chef, Paul Ainsworth.
At high tide Porthilly is an easy place to learn the art of stand up paddle-boarding; hire a board from the ski school or even have a lesson.
Walking is one of the best ways to explore this beautiful part of Cornwall. Stroll across the beach and onto the coastal path that leads all the way around the dunes to Daymer Bay, Polzeath, Pentire Point and beyond.
There is a foot ferry that shoots back forward between Rock and Padstow 7 days a week. From Padstow you can hire a bike and cycle the Camel Trail to explore the shops of Wadebridge, or venture a little further to the Camel Valley Vineyard to sample a glass of award winning Cornish champagne.
Perhaps stroll up the hill in Padstow to visit Prideaux Place, an Elizabethan manor house or walk out to Stepper Point with its panoramic sea views of the estuary and Atlantic ocean.
Porthilly is just a 10 minute drive from the fishing village of Port Isaac, made famous by the TV series Doc Martin. Here you can enjoy fine dining at one of Nathan Outlaws fine restaurants, or a fresh crab sandwich at 'Fresh from the Sea'.
There is a public bus service which leaves from Rock road, and our nearest railway station is Bodmin Parkway.
自我介绍
We are a husband and wife managing Porthilly Beach Holiday Park. Luke previously oversaw the growth and development of the thriving shellfish business on the farm here at Porthilly, before deciding that it was time for a new challenge and a change of direction. I worked as a mining engineer in different locations around the world before re-kindling a childhood friendship with Luke and coming back to my roots in Cornwall to start a family.
