We loved our stay at the Notch House! It is a gorgeous home and property—it is clear how much time, effort, and love Jamie and Polly have put into the space and they were extremely communicative both before, during, and after our stay. The beds are super comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed (we even did a lobster boil!), and it is a quick walk to the lake and hiking trails. We came on the off season with family (and our two pups!) so we didn’t use the event barn or new cabins but we explored a bit and they are gorgeous. I would have loved to have my wedding here if it had been available when I was getting married. I 10/10 recommend a stay or hosting your event at the Notch House and we will definitely be back!

The Notch House was just the winter getaway for which we were looking. The property fit our three families with our eight kids 2-12 years old perfectly--every family had a bathroom and corner of the home, and the huge dining area brought us all together during game and meal times. We couldn't have asked for a better outdoor space. Countless sledding hills for the kids, short and long hikes available directly from the back yard, and places to sit and watch the kids run and play--all fantastic. I bet it's twice as amazing for the kids in the summer. Kitchen was well appointed for multi-family cooking and having space for different groups to snack and drink at different times or while cooking. Finally, Polly was not only a great communicator, she went out of her way on a number of things to make our stay perfect. Highly recommend to families and our group looks forward to returning soon.

The Notch House is a charming old estate that transported our multigenerational group of 15 to a simpler time of lawn games, lake swimming, and books on the porch. The roomy kitchen and huge dining table allowed us to share meals together. The stone terrace was great for meals and spectacular stargazing. The gardens were in full bloom and we strolled through them again and again. Lake Willoughby is gorgeous and the cousins used the short path to swim in the cool waters. Polly and Jamie were great hosts with outstanding communication.

This is an extraordinary house in an extraordinary location. Our group of 15 spent five nights here and there was more than enough room for us to cook together, eat together and hang out together in the living room in front of the huge fireplace. The house is very well-appointed, clean, and full of interesting art and curios. It is situated in the midst of beautiful hiking and cross country trails, very close to Lake Willoughby.
