Jim's property was absolutely wonderful. It was very remote with stunning views, but was also close to hikes/Stowe/slopes. The cabin is cozy and warm with lots of comfy places to sit and relax. The outside fire pit is wonderful and I can't say enough about the views. Jim was very friendly and helpful, and we LOVED getting to meet the dogs! 10/10 recommend, and we will be visiting again!

“Just what we needed”……. I booked this trip as a surprise for my wife for her birthday. We’re foliage nerds and out here in Colorado the foliage just isn’t as good as the east Coast. After doing some research I picked our dates and then found Jim’s Larkspur Cabin on Airbnb. I wanted something remote and romantic…..and this WAS IT! Now, to the details…… -The Cabin It’s an old cabin. The wood creaks, there are spider webs, spiders, limited WiFi, limited cable, rustic furniture, etc. If you are looking for “fancy”, you should probably stay at a Ritz Carlton instead. However, if you’re looking to disappear, enjoy a romantic trip with you partner or just want to spend some quality family time without outside distractions, this is your place. There are board games, dvds, grill, stove, microwave, washer, dryer, foosball table and a little stereo player. Also, in the master bedroom upstairs, there is a deck with the most amazing view….especially during peak foliage. The cabin was “just what we needed” and more! -The Property The property itself is right outside of a town called Eden. It’s off the grid enough to feel isolated, but a short 45 min drive to Stowe and other big towns. On the property is Jim’s house, a few big garages for his business equipment, 3-4 cabins, and all of Jim’s business associates…aka, his four legged friends. Jim runs an ethical dog sledding business at the property on his over 100 acres of land. Let me be the first to say, all the dogs are GREAT! They are all very, very friendly. Some roam around the property while others stay in their fenced areas. We got to know a few of them over the week, but Polly is the sweetest of gang. She would come greet us in the morning and come say goodnight before she went in for bed. We took as many photos of Polly as we did of the foliage we came for. If the occasional dog barking or howling will upset you, you may want to find that Ritz Carlton. We didn’t mind it at all……we were at their home as guests. As I mentioned, Jim’s property is over 100 acres long with plenty of trails, scenic overlooks and it even has a pond. Some of our best photos of Vermont came from our cabin and hiking the property! -Jim Last but certainly not least is the owner, Jim. From the moment we met Jim, we knew he was a unique man. He was very welcoming, comforting and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. He was funny and witty. It was easy to see that he is a hardworking man…..up with sun and working until the sun sets. He’s owned the property for 20 years, constantly working on his land and working for the sake of his passion…..his dogs! It was apparent that Jim loves his animals and that they love him too. Over the course of our stay I got to know Jim more and more…..and by the last night, I had invited him over for dinner. He is a great human being and I’m humbled and thankful that I had the chance to cross paths with him and his team of dogs! Overall, I would highly recommend this stay to anyone who is truly trying to go off the grid for a remote getaway and have a one of a kind experience. I was skeptical going into this trip, but I left feeling we got “just what we needed”.

The incredible view of the sunrise over the mountains from the second floor bedroom deck is reason alone to stay here. Jim’s Larkspur cabin is spacious, clean and comfortable….what else does one need?
