We have about everything you need for a five-star vacation. Upon arrival you may load your bags and groceries on the cargo lift rather than lugging everything upstairs. (Absolutely no children on the lift.) Enter the house via the personal lock code of your choice. Your home away from home awaits-keep reading for a tour of the property. As soon as you walk in the door you will find the living room and kitchen with dining area. The master bedroom with ensuite is in the back of the house, and the other two bedrooms and full bath are upstairs. Evenings and rainy days are great for relaxing in front of the TV while streaming your favorite shows-remember to bring your passwords! We have a comfortable sofa, rocker/recliner, and loveseat with large ottoman. (New photos coming soon.) Create a bit of ambiance and choose your mood with the electric fireplace. Hungry? The best meals are home cooked. Prep breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the fully equipped kitchen. Everything from measuring cups/spoons, basic spices, aluminum foil, new bakeware, and pots and pans to a pizza cutter, ice cream scoop, grilling utensils and other essentials may be found in this kitchen! The drink cooler offers extra chilling space for beer, wine, and soft drinks. The dining set seats eight guests so everyone has a place at the table. The master bedroom boasts a spacious king-sized bed, offering a luxurious and restful sleep experience. It comes complete with an en suite bathroom, ensuring convenience and privacy. Enjoy a clean comforter and shams, hotel quality sheets, two pillows per guest, luxury hotel bath linens, black face cloths for make up removal, and Public Goods shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel (made in the USA), and a hair dryer. In the laundry room guests have access to the washer and dryer. Clean People detergent sheets (made in Canada) and wool balls (made in New Zealand) allow eco-friendly options for getting clean. This room is also a half bath. Upstairs, the second bedroom is a queen-sized haven, featuring a private balcony that opens to picturesque beach views. Relax in the Adirondack glider and sip a morning coffee from your own private coffee bar or stargaze in the evenings from this tranquil perch. Sleep peacefully in the queen bed with thick, memory foam mattress, clean comforter and shams, hotel quality sheets and pillows, and two pillows per guest. The new coffee bar features a drip/K-cup combo brewer, Brita filter for water, local ground and whole bean coffees, grinder, sweeteners, and a mini fridge for real cream and milk. Escape to this room and stream your favorite shows on the Roku TV when you need to get away. The third bedroom offers versatility with a daybed that includes a trundle, making it a flexible space for one or two guests. The kids do not have to share a bed. As with the other two bedrooms, you have clean comforters/shams, two hotel quality pillows per guest, and hotel quality sheets. Stream your flicks on the Roku TV. These two bedrooms share a full bath with hotel quality towels, black face cloths for makeup removal, Public Goods shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel, and a hair dryer. Are you a grill chef? Snag your steaks at the Boozey Butcher on Fort Morgan Road (don't forget the Sure Shot Gunpowder seasoning!) and grill up dinner on the charcoal barbecue under the pergola. Complete with new Adirondack chairs and string lights (still waiting on the electrician to connect the power - sigh), this is the place to relax with an evening drink and savor the scent of dinner to come. If outdoor dining is on your list, the picnic table on the carport is ideal for afternoon lunch and dinner. Our favorite place is the front deck. Swing your cares away in the porch swing or kick back in the Adirondack chairs and relax with a glass of wine while watching the pelicans soar along the beach. Feel the breeze on your face and listen to the sounds of nature. To help our sea turtle friends, wildlife-friendly lighting has been installed on all exterior areas. Nesting season runs from May through October. Please close curtains at night so Mama Turtle is encouraged to nest and her hatchlings will gravitate toward the waves. If you're lucky you may get the chance to experience a hatching! Please respect the turtles and avoid any marked nesting sites. The beach is our main attraction, but there is so much else to do in Gulf Shores. Historic Fort Morgan is just a couple of miles west of the house. The fort was instrumental during the Civil War and is full of history. The ferry is located just outside the entrance to the fort. Ride the ferry to Dauphin Island and spend a few hours at the Alabama Aquarium where you will learn about the sea creatures and life in Mobile Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Fort Gaines, which was also an important post during the Civil War is right nearby. Satisfy your hunger in one of the many restaurants on the island. If you like exploring the outdoors, there are several hiking trails and the Jeff Friend kayak launch on Fort Morgan Road. Bring your kayak or rent one from one of the local businesses and paddle Little Lagoon. There are numerous other kayak trails in the area. Gulf State Park offers hiking and bicycling trails. Visit the pier and watch the fishermen haul in their catches. Or purchase a license and cast away for your chance at a fresh meal. Waterville, The Track, and OWA amusement parks are great for a day of activity. Let the kids run wild and burn off that energy! The Pensacola Naval Museum and Pensacola Lighthouse are just a short drive across the state line along the beach road. Be sure to catch a Blue Angels practice! Parasailing, jet ski rental, and sailing trips are available, too. If fishing is in your plans, numerous offshore and inshore excursions are in the area. Trips usually include your required fishing license. Be sure to ask when booking. If you prefer to stay closer to land, snag a surf rod, some frozen squid, a pack of Fish Bites, and cast away on the shoreline. Just don't hook another visitor!
