Located in scenic Maberly, a hot spot for whale watching and puffin colonies (excellent views). Beautifully built home with traditional style and open concept layout. Main floor consists of kitchen, dining room, living room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. Second floor features the primary bedroom with ensuite, laundry, and an open area for gathering. Unobstructed ocean views for puffins, whales, and icebergs, which you can enjoy from the patio and a large private back yard! The home was built in 2004, combining traditional style with modern features. Painted plank flooring and custom built wood furniture give the cottage a cozy feel! Away from busy tourist areas, yet a short 15 minute drive to downtown Bonavista, the cottage is located in Maberly, a small hamlet of approximately 12 homes. It's a true Newfoundland experience, surrounded by nature and history.

Wonderful house and surroundings. Great view and lots of berries. Very comfortable beds. Hope to come back again and do more hiking and see the puffins when they are here. Had lunch at Mifflins tea room in Bonavista....not to be missed!

I had an outstanding stay at Julie’s house! I know the area well and have stayed in many places, but this ranks number 1! I slept so well, enjoyed the beautiful view, has some beautiful local walks and was spoiled with local wildlife (whales and puffins at walking distance). The sunsets were breathtaking. A must stay!

Scenic Maberly loop is a quiet retreat with stunning ocean views. Away from the summer crowds but close to everything! The cottage is a 10 minute walk to the Puffin Viewing Site and 20 minute walk/4 minute drive to Sandy Cove Beach. A few minutes drive to Elliston (Puffin Cafe, Nanny's Root Cellar, gift shops) and 15 minutes drive to Bonavista (shopping, cafes, fine dining, bakery, the Garrick movie theatre and concert venue, whale watching tours, gas, groceries). Wonderful hiking steps from the cottage (Maberly to Catalina trail), and close by trails including Spillars Cove, Klondike Trail, and Cape Shore trail. The Bonavista Peninsula is home to a UNESCO Global Geopark, with so much to explore!
The cottage has a driveway with parking for two vehicles. Other vehicles can be parked along the roadside if needed. The Peninsula does not have public transit, so a vehicle is recommended for getting around! However if you are planning a car-free vacation, there are plenty of amenities within biking distance!
