The Carney Inn is located at 215 N. Detroit St., it was built in 1869 by Captain Harley Crocker. The Victorian home was restored by Estella and Rollin “Sam” Carney in 1991. This beautiful and historical home is located in downtown Lagrange and is within walking distance to local restaurants and shops, and only a block away from the beautiful Lagrange County courthouse. Just minutes away lies the town of Shipshewana, where one can find one of the largest Amish communities in the U.S. The home has three beautiful available rooms for your accommodation, each with a unique theme, and its own private bathroom. The home offers a nice kitchen with a spacious dinning area. A beautiful living room where one can merge into the history of the house. In this room you will find board games for you and your family to enjoy. In addition the house counts with sun room, a front porch, and back patio, feel free to enjoy all three areas.

Nice historic property.
Very cute town with several restaurants in easy walkable distance that have generous opening hours. Drive to the Shipshewana area is roughly 20 minutes on good roads. House is very historic with lots to look at inside. Wifi is strong and there are several TVs to watch. Dining room is great and provides comfortable seating for large group. Beds are comfy. Upstairs bathrooms have quite small showers but main floor has huge shower that is very nice. Lots of trucks and motorcycles use the main road just outside the house and it can get loud so recommend you bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.
This was a great place for 7 people to stay for our class reunions. All had our own bedroom and plenty of bathrooms. Restaurants were nearby . Had plenty of room to play games and socialize. Didn't have time to utilize the fire pit but it was there and looked great. I would highly recommend this property.
Great place to stay! Farmhouse is beautiful inside and out. If you love to get away to a peaceful place with lots to do, this is the place for you! Great stay highly recommend.

The house is very conveniently located on IN-9/N Detroit St, in downtown LaGrange. You can park on the back of the house, on W Factory side street, or on the side gravel parking lot located next to the outdoor patio area. There are shops, restaurant, and grocery stores near by and within walking distance. The house is located on IN-9 a main road that connects with two other main roads, the first one being IN-120 which runs in a general east-west direction, and connects rural portions of Elkhart, LaGrange and Steuben counties. The second is I-80/90 Indiana toll road which extends across the northernmost part of Indiana from its border with Ohio to the Illinois State Line. Making Shipshewana, Elkhart, and South Bend very accessible and within a short driving distance.
