开普敦 · 整套公寓 · 3室3床2.0卫 · 可住8人 · MRG Private 8 sleeper penthouse unit
Spectacular and ultra spacious penthouse section, on the top floor of a larger private house. Fully independent with own entrance, secure parking, private kitchen, lounge, large deck, three bedrooms, two bathrooms. Internal combustion fireplace. Well equipped kitchen for home cooking. Work desks with ergonomic chairs. High speed fibre Wi-Fi with backup power. Wide awe-inspiring views. Short drive from Hout Bay Beach and Llandudno Beach. Communal pool, communal barbeque area, firepits and garden. It goes by the name of "Annapurna Apartment" (ps. Although we use the word Apartment, it is self-owned, for nearly 18 years, and would be called a Condo. In South Africa, we don't typically use the word Condo). It has a captivating story behind it's name, a history and a deep charm all of its own. It's an unbelievably awesome and special space, located on the side of a mountain and surrounded by nature reserve and we are honoured to have the opportunity to share our little piece of paradise with you as our treasured guests. You will get to experience the inspiring sunsets and moonrises from a high up vantage point. Every evening, you'll hear the distant cries of the local peacocks in the valley below. Sit in the deck making use of the hammock, sun lounger chairs or patio furniture, while taking in towering mountain views surrounding the house. Fairy lights on the deck make it extra special at nighttime. Prepare yourself to fall in love with space... it will undoubtedly charm it's way into your heart. You will have the top floor apartment all to yourself, being a generous 300 m2 / 3200 f2 inside plus a 100 m2 / 1100 f2 private deck, with unrivalled views. You will have privacy, however you're not isolated and completely alone. The accommodation is made up of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, accommodating up to 8 people very comfortably (with 2 sleeping on extra floor mattresses in the lounge). We limit this to max 6 adults plus 2 children. However, if you have a great Airbnb history in your profile with positive host reviews, then we may consider more than 6 adults. Please note, we charge extra for persons 7 and 8, to help cover the additional costs incurred setting up the extra beds and for the extra laundry costs. The rest of the property is communal use, which you'll share with a combination of one very cool long long-term tenant, a couple, and Airbnb guests in three other listings in the property. However, don't please don't feel nervous about that, it's a very large property, there is ample space for everybody to enjoy their privacy and quiet time. The name "Annapurna" is taken from a mountain peak in Nepal, as a testimony to the breath-taking, sweeping views of the Hout Bay valley below and the surrounding mountains. There are no words that can really convey how awesome the views are, and you will no doubt spend many hours just admiring them during your stay. The apartment boasts down to earth features merged with luxurious highlights. The living area has solid wooden floors, contrasted with the bedrooms plush carpets. The living area has two crystal chandeliers, compared with the bedrooms dimmable downlighters. On warmer days, open up all the windows to let the view in, and enjoy the cool ocean breeze drifting over the mountaintop from Llandudno Beach a mere 800 meters away, as the eagle flies. Llandudno Beach and Hout Bay beach are +-5 kilometres drive away. On colder days, make use of the internal combustion fireplace in the living area (you need to purchase your own wood supplies). Important facilities to highlight are a high speed Wi-Fi of +100 mbps speed, with backup inverter power to see you through loadshedding. We also provide several work desks that are easy to move around to your preferred work position in the apartment. These provisions make the place very suitable for digital nomads looking for that perfect location that also allows them to work remotely. If you are a digital nomad that has other specific requirements, please feel free to engage with us about your needs, and we'll see if we can make a plan to assist you in other ways. The lounge has a Smart 65 inch TV with a complimentary Netflix account and a DSTV account (both streaming services, via Wi-Fi on the Smart TV). Our latest upgrade to the space is a large internal combustion fireplace, which is basically a fireplace inside the living area with glass on 3 sides. This is ideal for heating the space even despite the realities of loadshedding. The main bedroom welcomes in the valley views, is quite spacious, has ample cupboard space with both a “his and hers” section, and has an ensuite bathroom. The bathroom boasts a large walk-in shower, a separate bath, and a beautiful mirror and marble basin vanity (and of course, the ever-necessary toilet). The second bedroom enjoys afternoon sunshine, is medium-sized, has sizable cupboard space and a sliding door from the bedroom onto the outside wooden deck. The third bedrooms also enjoys the late sun, is smaller than the other two, and therefore could be described as small, yet still manages to fit a king-size bed nonetheless, and also has sufficient cupboard space. A communal bathroom offers a shower, toilet and basin. There is an outside laundry area with washing machine and a covered washline. Provisions that assist with bearing up during loadshedding: - three portable back up LED lights - gas hob and gas oven - steel kettle to heat water on gas hob - outside lighting on solar power - high speed WiFi on backup inverter power Please do read our special cautionary note regarding children on the property, in the section below, "Other things to note".
Our stay was very great. The host was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely consider staying there again next time we’re in CT.
What a beautiful home with stunning views. I had the pleasure to work with amazing host Maike, we planned a photoshoot together for the day and everything just worked out perfectly. I was able to contact her anytime of day or night and she'd respond within minutes, if something was needed or asked for she would go out of her way and get everything sorted where possible. This is seriously a superb apartment ad I would recommend it to anyone trying to break free and get some peace and quiet, with beautiful views and still close enough to everything you would like to visit in and around Cape Town. Thank you so much for an amazing time.
Location was perfect for honey mooners or family. The host are attentive to detail and decor, furniture and appliances are 5 star….. The view was spectacular- waking up to a sunrise, overlooking the mountain and having the moon to light up the evening is special. Pool well looked after, and walking on the grounds was fun. There are outdoor BBQ areas as well. We played onboard games in the evening around a hot fireplace. Kids enjoyed doing reading with a spectacular view!!! There are aircons and heaters as well and well serviced.! The data connection was good for the all the Netflixolics …. Highly recommend to tourist or locals . Will certainly be back!!! Thank you Maike!!!!
The neighborhood. Well, in South Africa we use the queen’s English, so we spell it “neighbourhood”. Anyhow, back to the point… there is so much to be said for Hout Bay itself as a neighbourhood, and then so much more about Cape Town as a city. Oh, where to start!
Hout Bay is a multi-cultural, multi-national suburb. There are more than 5 000 households. We have 3 distinct areas, each worlds’ apart, yet we as a community try our best to embrace the gap and integrate as a united community. The gap is widened by so many factors it’s not worth getting into here, however we bond on the most natural level possible – humanity.
There is Imizamo Yetho, a melting pot of controversy, home to some 40 000 informal settlers, and many formal residents as well. Then there is Harbour Heights, on the other side of the valley, home to some informal settlers however houses the longest-standing residents of the Hout Bay valley, the long-serving fisherman’s community, mostly homed in council-housing. And then there is the rest of Hout Bay, who are not living in council-housing or informal shacks. All this adds for very interesting dynamics that will fascinate you. Official tours are available inside Imizamo Yetho, if you wish to witness first-hand the internal workings of a South African informal settlement.
Hout Bay has some of these wonderful things to explore, a few of which are:-
Hout Bay Market - eclectic, arty, inspiring, entertaining, musical, creativity www bayharbour co za. Fish on the Rocks / Snookies – world-renowned take-away hake fish & slap chips (aka “tjips”). And the list goes on and on…this is all just in the Hout Bay valley, don’t get me started on what lies outside of the valley…
Hout Bay is very popular with foreigners whom are affectionally called “swallows”, mostly German, some British, French and other nationalities. They live abroad for 9 months of the year, and come to rest in Hout Bay for the summer months, usually December / January / February.
What will likely strike you about Hout Bay, is the sense of community. Everyone is friends with everybody. There is a great sense of fighting for the benefit of the community, a volunteer spirit that rises amongst the valley’s residents whenever necessary, and a sense of comradery. Witness the Argus Cycle Tour in Hout Bay and you’ll quickly see how quirky we all are. Come, witness, experience and let the madness infect you… you will never look back, and may end up never leaving (as many have done – come, seen and stayed). Welcome to Hout Bay!
