The cathedral ceilings create a sense of openness and spaciousness throughout the property. The floor-to-ceiling fireplace adds a cozy touch, perfect for gathering around during cooler evenings indoors or enjoy the outdoor firepit sharing stories under the stars. Property designed to be the perfect getaway includes: • Rogers High speed internet access • Large dining room to fit the entire family of 12 • 1 Great Room and a lower family room • Gourmet chef’s kitchen and bar including gas range • 2 - 55-inch 4K TV and 2 additional TV’s all with Chromecasts • Gas BBQ – no need to fill propane tanks • Outdoor firepit and seating (fire starters provided). Guests must adhere to BURN BANS that are municipality enforced. • 1300 sq. ft of private dock including lakeside sound system and fridge • Canoe with life jackets (adults/kids), paddles and safety kit •. The fall colors are spectacular and the hiking and walking trails offer a chance to relax and connect with nature. • Ice fishing • Outdoor skating trails including night trails • Cross country and snowshoes (with rental options) • Snow-mobiling across the lake or nearby trails• • Fall and Winter Festivals • Craft beer tours • Consider a Paint night at the cottage with a local paint diva host • Seasonal decor for the holidays for families to celebrate Christmas or New Year's Eve Our property has professional snow clearing service for both the road and driveway for easy access. OTHER • Garbage Collection is Monday morning. There is a unit to safely store bags (clear bags only, provided) at the end of the driving. 2 large bag limit per week. Recycling of paper and plastics is unlimited. Bins provided.

Had an amazing weekend getaway with a bunch of friends at Debbie’s cottage! Everyone had an amazing time and the cottage was perfect, lots of rooms and beds which made it perfect for our large group. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need and they actually provided towels and linens which was great because a few of us forgot to pack towels. Favourite part of the cottage was the huge private deck perfect for hanging out and enjoying the sun with lots of chairs and a picnic table. Also perfect if you have a boat as the public launch is about 5 minutes away. Cottage is also located on a good part of the lake for fishing as we did catch a lot of walleye and bass about 5 minutes away by boat from our dock which was very convenient. Would definitely comeback and recommend to others!
Debbie was a fantastic host. Her responses were very quick and she was very patient with our questions. Check in and check out instructions were clear and easy. The cottage is beautiful and the dock/lakefront was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better spot for a weekend getaway with friends!
My family and I had a great time at this cottage!! Debbie was very accommodating to us, and she responded very quickly to any questions that I had. My neices and nephews loved going down to the lake. We were lucky and got great weather, so they were able to swim and use the inflatable boats that were provided. I haven't fished in years. My goal was to fish and relax on the beautiful dock. I was able to catch 4 bass right from the dock! The family said it was birthday luck as I was the only one that was able to catch anything. Ha! My family and I have been cottaging for years, and most cottages do not provide toilet paper, towels, linens/beddings, and cleaning supplies, but this cottage did. So, most of us actually over packed. We would love to book this cottage again. I would definitely recommend this place. I already have some friends asking about it from the pictures I have sent. Thanks for having us!!
The toxteth Cottage offered an unforgettable escape that perfectly balanced relaxation and adventure. Debbie is an exceptional host. Our check-in was seamless, and the cottage immediately felt like home. Debbie thoughtfully provided WiFi codes, ensuring we stayed connected while nestled in this lakeside haven. Our evening adventure to the local go-karting track added a thrilling twist to our day, and the serene waterfront views back at the cottage were the perfect way to unwind. The lines in the bathroom, toiletries, well made beds and so many board games for kids - absolutely enjoyed everything. We had been in lakes at 3 days - most of the time jumping like kids, Kayaking, Canoe, paddle boards and what not. BBQ dinner with gas conveniently supplied was a treat, followed by a cozy evening by the fire-pit Debbie's Toxteth Cottage is a hidden gem that showcases her dedication to ensuring her guests have an extraordinary experience. Conveniently located just minutes away from Highway 35, allows easy access to explore. It's only a 10-minute drive to Fenelon Falls where you can find a Sobeys, LCBO, shops, restaurants, and even a Tim Hortons. Watch the boats at the locks and don’t forget to make a trip to the “The Little Pie Shack” too.

By Boat or SeaDoo
The local marina with a free boat lift (updated in 2022) is a few minutes to the property where you can dock and unload. Our property offers 2 Sea Doo lifts and 2 power boat lifts plus plenty of dock space to simply tie up your boat too.
By Canoe
We provide a canoe including paddles, life jackets (adults and kids), and safety kit to enjoy and tour getting around the lake.

Welcome to our home away from home on Balsam Lake. We hope you create lifelong memories too as our guests. Greg and I love to entertain and travel. Greg is an amazing cook & with a gas oven and BBQ, his talents in the kitchen make a lot of fabulous meals. I love to garden, read or do yoga! Together, we enjoy exploring new areas, spending time with family and playing lots of games. It makes it easy to unplug from tech even with our WIFI home
